King Arthur: I am your king.
Peasant Woman: Well, I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Peasant Woman: Well, how'd you become king, then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king.
Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis the Peasant: You can't expect to wield supreme power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

That was at Anthony Calhoun's outing. I'm not fan of Woodson but it's not like that was his idea or execution.

What an arrogant cock s*cker. He was a *good* player during a medicore period for IU hoops and a shitty coach as well. His status is so overblown.
Damn. I'm ready to see IU move on but.... Mediocre period of IU hoops,. that's a big load of horse shit right there.

He was an outstanding player on some outstanding IU teams. Maybe you weren't around during his senior season where he went down with his back injury and played forty friggin minutes the game he made his return. That team, taking the B1G title in the final game of the year from Kellogg, and Herb Williams, and Kelvin Ransey in the final game.... One of my favorite moments in IU hoops history.

He's shown he's not a good college coach. Hell, he really pisses me off with the way he parks his Caddy outside the hall. No need to f#$k with his legacy as a player.

I guess being called a *good* player is pissing on his legacy. jfc

I don't think he wants to be a "King". Kings often go out the hard way. His kingdom, mostly due to his own performances, is currently under a pretty intense siege. That will get a lot worse here soon. And he isn't likely to "make it out" of it. All metaphorically speaking...obviously...but when Kings fall, they fall pretty hard. If I were him, I'd prefer to be referred to as "Prime Minister of Indiana Basketball".

He was a great college player on a team that at one time was ranked #1 in the world amongst amateurs. They also beat an incredibly good Russian team that year. Had Woodson not hurt his back that year we most likely would’ve been hanging banner #4 in 1980. That team was certainly not mediocre with the likes of Woody, Isaiah, Tolbert, Whitman, etc. All that said, his coaching definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

What’s your claim to fame? I get not being happy with the results… it’s all the personal attacks I don’t get. Especially when it’s all conjecture with no real inside information on what’s going on etc.

Lots of good players and really bad coaches on that team. Isiah was an awful coach and wittman wasn't a ton better with a .400 career winning percentage.

Don’t forget the Mighty Quinn who has I believe the worst record in NBA coaching history.

Was reading one of the other boards today and was pleasantly surprised to read (based on two of the usually very well informed posters) that CMW has already been informed that baring a remarkable turn around and deep tourney run, he's out after the season. Obviously not the gospel, but it does sync up with some things I heard over the weekend from a very connected person who has been around the program for decades. Guy had some interesting takes on Wonder Boy too (hint, the wife is the issue there and it's not happening now).

Another tidbit that I also found interesting, if not a bit disheartening...If you look at how this group handled recruiting in the past compared to this year, it's night and day. They had something like 35 offers out to '25 players by EOY '23 and kept offering and pursuing others during the season. This year, they've basically gone silent and have I think 15 offers out. The theory is they know it's the end of the road and are totally focused on now.

We'll see how it works out, but I've heard enough to believe that it's definitely over unless some magical run happens....and I think we've all seen enough to not expect that to happen.

Big Ten MVP despite missing a good part of the season due to injury. He was more than “good”. His basketball shot floated in air with softness, much like the shots of Glen Grunwald and Jay Edwards. PU’s Rick Mount’s ball did the same, those here who remember 55 years ago.

Someone tell @BradStevens that it's time to be selfish.

Ha, I doubt Tracy is an issue. Maybe she is in the eyes of a few of the many IU people involved in the process last go around. Send in Scott and Pam and I bet this “issue” goes away. Doesn’t mean Brad is coming here, but this isn’t the reason why.
