It seems Walsh has connections in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I don't know the whole dynamic but it seems interesting that IU has 3 assistants that do heavy lifting on recruiting. Then Armand Hill, Randy Wittman, & Jim Todd work as consultants.

IU decided to pay to keep him. At least they didn’t make the very poor decision of hiring Wittman like many of you said would happen. Still quite a few players left to go.

Nice to see some semblance of continuity. Sounds like Walsh landed the most important recruit of the Woodson era in Cupps, so that’s good. Walsh seems serious about IU.

I know nothing about Cupps except he won Mr. BBall in Ohio as a Jr...... But Walsh is the reason he is coming. If you can get a kid to come without being an assistant, that speaks volumes to me.
I think he is also the lead for Adou Thiero as well. I wonder if he will get his offer sometime this week. I have heard the IU is in good shape with him too. There was also a 6'8 2024 kid from Pennsylvania that recently visited because of the Walsh connection.
While I am too young to remember Woodson as a player, I grew up in southern Indiana where most adults in my family were huge Woodson fans. Most wanted him to be coach after Knight was fired so I have followed his coaching career closely because of that and have been nothing but impressed with the type of coach and man he is. I trust Woodson will do what is best for IU and am excited about IUs new assistant despite not knowing much about him either.
Why is everyone so fascinated with thiero. I mean if race and TJD come back sure but if not we need immediate help.

It is obvious what type of player Woodie is recruiting. Kids who can shoot the three and drive to the basket. That was the shorting coming of this team. That is why Purdue lost last night. If this staff can continue to mine some recruiting gold. It will show up on the court soon..

His dad played for Cal at Memphis. Not typical for Cal to offer a kid so unheralded, like that Walsh has a knack for spotting talent.

Every recruit we have ever gone after looks good in a video. I remember people being so excited after seeing Peter Jurkin in a you tube videos and how did that work out. You tube videos are a joke they are only going to show the best highlights.
Yeah the Walsh hire is a gut punch I thought we were hiring Wittman, Kitchel and Kent Benson. Joe Hillman was going to be a consultant with John Laskowski and Quinn Buckner. I really though we were getting the old gang back together!
