If Woodson is back I’m officially retiring as a fan after 45 years. Would be the dumbest move in college hoops and make Dolson look silly. However, would right in IU’s wheelhouse.
I agree. I haven’t watched a game for 2+ months now. Just hard to watch. They might have won a few lately, but still not something I want to see. Mainly the coaching aspect of it.
When you’ve lived through all the RMK national championship seasons (was a Jr at IU in ‘87), you just expect IU to have better coaching and players that WANT to play. The coach is ultimately responsible though. It’s crazy, because until last year, I may have missed not more than 5 games since graduating IU.

It would be justified. The expectation before the season was at least a Sweet Sixteen.
Justified? Who would think that is justification?

So, a coach that has been a complete failure (based on his own standards) for 4 years, wins two games in the NCAA Tournament and all is forgiven? Let’s hope SD is not as shallow as some fans are.

By the way, I could write a book defining ‘all’.

Was it a swallow?
I got a funny story. At my church in Illinois I had a trustee whose Dad had been a milk farmer. He had a metal wire that would go from the barn to another barn so they could transfer the milk easily. One day when my trustee was around 10 or 11 his Dad was going into town. He told him, "You can shoot the black birds with your rifle but leave the swallows alone." So he is thinking about and says to himself, "Dad won't know what I shoot so I will shoot whatever I want." He sees a swallow and shoots it. It rises up because of the blast and then as it falls It's beak sticks to the wire. My trustee started shooting it to try to get it off the wire before Dad came home. The swallow is spinning around and won't leave the wire. I asked him, "so what happened when Dad got home?" He said, "I got a good spanking for that".

Great story. Like your trustee, loved shooting birds. I was probably 7 or 8, and my Dad told me the birds I could shoot, blackbirds, starlings, spatzies, the good birds I couldn’t, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Robins, etc.

Well, one day the bad birds were nowhere to be found, but there were plenty of good birds. A fat robin flew into our back yard and landed on a branch within perfect range. I dropped him with my trusty BB gun, but as soon as I hit him I had a hundred emotions, mainly deep sadness and fear, because I knew my Dad would not be happy. I hid the bird behind the wood pile and tried to forget about it.

About a week later my Dad was out there and found the dead bird, held it up and asked me ‘know anything about this?’ I started crying and apologizing, but it didn’t faze him. He was pissed. My Dad grew up on the farm and was serious about his animal rules. He took my gun away for 2 weeks which was the worst punishment ever. I was hoping for a quick beating, but he knew what would really hurt. Never shot a good bird after that, lesson learned.
