kelvin sampson redux

His idol is Eddie Sutton. I shit you not, I heard KS actually say that yesterday on the radio.

That should tell you all you need to know about Kelvin Sampson.
Another idol was Billy Tubbs.

I'm not sure Sampson leaves, but there will certainly be some major coaching spots to fill in the coming few years.
No new gigs for Kelvin. He will retire and lobby for his son to continue at Houston.

It wasn't only texting that got him in trouble. They were setting up 3 way calls for him while he was banned/restricted from doing so. Also kids weren't going to class and there was a known culture problem.

If there were levels of cheating, his would obviously be considered on the minor side, especially now. But his lackluster and arrogant approach to being on probation is what turned me off.

To answer your question, he won't ever land a blue blood job again, but I think he could get a top job someday. Or he might just like it on Houston and stay there. He's what, like 60yrs old by now?
how many schools would you consider "blue blood"and how many just "top jobs"?

I turned off of him when I never heard that he encouraged the team to keep going to class and finish the academic year in good order, no matter what happened to him. A coach I'd want for my kid would do that first thing.

Lets say Sampson doesn't break the rules I think IU might be where Michigan is knocking on the door for championships. What he did in his first two years at IU I think he could of won a championship I think UCLA is going after him or Pitino.

Well the old clock on the wall ....has just fallen on the floor

Good coach. Cheater. Why does this topic keep coming back? He was a cheater before he was hired at IU. We all knew he was a solid coach though.
