Time to bring back Kelvin Sampson. The guy knows how to win and would no doubtably take us back to the Final Four. Wish the athletic department would have the balls to get it done.

Past transgressions aren’t even against the rules anymore. We need to win and win now. We’d land any in state kid we want and go back to dominating the Purdue rivalry.

When has IU dominated Purdue? Purdue leads head to head 125-92. Gene Keady had a winning record against Knight! Since 1949 - 1950 season Purdue leads 69-67! (Although he wasn’t convicted of said transgressions, probably not ideal.)

I'd certainly do a full background check, but I'd consider hiring Beard and think he'd do really well here, where I'd never consider hiring Sampson, between his age and history. I don't think he can even differentiate right from wrong, or is willing to overlook it, from the stories I heard.

Gene Keady only beats out Knight if you include the game they later had to forfeit due to cheating with an illegal player.

Mike Davis was 9-2 against Keady. Bob Knight had a winning record against PU, and he would have Davis' wins if he didn't get fired. Archie and Crean are the best things to ever happen to PU.

PU did their damage during the peach basket era. Many Big Ten programs have surpassed PU in the NCAAT era. Just worry about those mid majors and Final Four drought since 1980.

I'll add... Over the past ten seasons, Purdue has won 70% ( a tick under) of their Big Ten games, IU has won 45%.

What's PU's record against mid-majors when it counts? You understand Painter's track record would get him shit canned at any school worth a damn, including IU, right? You understand PU is a national joke? Being the little engine that sometimes can in the conference doesn't cut it. 20 years and Painter hasn't done squat when it counts. Frankenball doesn't work outside of the Big Ten: just ask the mid-majors.

Has somebody started a Steve Alford or Tom Crean coaching appreciation thread? I'd rather read that than read PU fans gush over Painter.

Yes IU has those championships. They’ve won one in the last 40 years. Half the IU fan base wasn’t even alive.
The goal is no longer championships. It’s actually just making the tournament.
And yes, while Purdue has been better lately, one EE isn’t a ton to brag about.
It’s cyclical so enjoying for the time being.

The 1980 Final Four drought continues. Your coach has one elite 8 in 20 years, lol. Cherry pick out the mid-majors embarrassments, lol. Painter is a national joke when it matters. Painter shouldn't have a job. Sounds like Purdue has just given up on anything that occurs after the Big Ten season.

Sampson is great coach we all know this and he would of did great at Indiana problem is we hired two flash in the pans in Crean, Miller then a NBA coach. We need to hire a great college coach like a Bruce Pearl, Mark Few, Chris Beard, Scott Drew, Tony Bennett, Jay Wright..
