Kash FBI Director

Every vote against him was racist because they don't like Indians. How did Elizabeth Warren vote?
Hey @VanPastorMan . What’s your gospel reading this Sunday? The one at my church is the iconic Luke 6:27-38. You know, the one with the compelling guidance for Christian living.

You could have an impact with the readers here by maybe sharing some inspiring messages from time to time, perhaps even a transcript of one of your sermons.

You hold yourself out as a pastor. Where’s the pastoral message?

Most likely, the only "lists" that exist are the ones that were already released as part of the court process. But that's not good enough for the loonies. They need to believe that there is some kind of conspiracy that Trump is >this< close to exposing.

They don't stop to think that if what they believe were really true, Trump could have exposed the same on Jan 20 at 12:05 PM.

I was referencing how when the Republicans were against one of Obama's policies they were charged with racism. Since Patel is a person of color then it would fit. The Warren comment was just having some fun.
Republicans didn't like any of his policies. and some were definitely against having a black president

Naw..., that's not true...

We were all for his policy on droning terrorists (at least when he was occasionally on target), along with his being in the right place at the right time to make the decision to get out of the way and let our Special Operators bag Bin Ladin, plus his stated policy on Illegal immigration and enhanced ICE deportations..., also his stated theoretical approach to cutting waste from the Federal government seemed like a good idea (too bad we had to wait until now for someone to actually do it).

Unlike today's Dims, we weren't going well out of our way to be on the wrong side of history..., in fact quite a few "Republicans" even voted for the guy right here in Indiana...

Now I personally thought he was a weasely commie at heart who kick started all this divisive DEI crap but I didn't disagree with Every move he made... 😉

I'm waiting for the MAGA outrage about Patel committing perjury in his confirmation committee hearing when he said he would appoint a current FBI Special Agent to be his Deputy, which is SOP for that position. He chose Bondino who hasn't worked at the FBI.

Would that constitute perjury? I’m genuinely curious.

For our resident lawyers…

If I make a pledge under oath to do X at a future time and then do Y instead of X, is that perjury?

I actually don't know, but MAGAs through around the perjury accusation constantly during the Biden administration. Usually, there wasn't even an associated lie.

My layman’s guess is that a prosecutor would have to prove that you knew at the time you made the statement that you weren’t planning on following through with the pledge. Mens rea.

Like, if there was documented evidence that the deputy director’s position was already offered to Bongino, or something like that.

I’ve just never heard of it being applied to a pledge to take some future action.

Seems like a very poor and strange pick for Deputy FBI Director:

I like the new ATF Director pick...

The dystopian irony of having an agency named for combatting three things that are all completely legal.

Can we get a name change at least? Something closer to what the ATF actually does (in theory).

It certainly does. I can't say I've listened to Bongino's talk shows all that much. But he's always struck me as an all-in tribalist loose cannon, which doesn't at all lend itself to this kind of role. It should be very interesting to see what Patel and Bongino do with this. I don't expect it will be anything good.

Of course, it's also true that Andrew McCabe held this position. If I recall, he was caught up in the Crossfire Hurricane debacle -- which is exactly the sort of thing you'd fear somebody like Bongino would do if he was interested in gumming up a presidential candidacy.

I'm not saying McCabe's disgraceful actions justify Bongino getting the job. But I would say it's not surprising that we ended up here -- and that it's a great example why politics needs to be kept completely out of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

It can easily lead to a tit-for-tat in the event of a different election result. And that's not what agencies like the FBI exist to do.

I've seen him on Fox a couple times and he's a weird guy IMO.

Gonna be a VERY long 4 years for some. They are already calling the game, after the first 30 seconds.

It's so damn funny to watch.

I reckon they like the they like the name Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms better than the Bureau of Dog Killin'
