Patel is coming after people in the media he considers enemies:
Every vote against him was racist because they don't like Indians. How did Elizabeth Warren vote?

Hey @VanPastorMan . What’s your gospel reading this Sunday? The one at my church is the iconic Luke 6:27-38. You know, the one with the compelling guidance for Christian living.Every vote against him was racist because they don't like Indians. How did Elizabeth Warren vote?
Most likely, the only "lists" that exist are the ones that were already released as part of the court process. But that's not good enough for the loonies. They need to believe that there is some kind of conspiracy that Trump is >this< close to exposing.
They don't stop to think that if what they believe were really true, Trump could have exposed the same on Jan 20 at 12:05 PM.
I was referencing how when the Republicans were against one of Obama's policies they were charged with racism. Since Patel is a person of color then it would fit. The Warren comment was just having some fun.Do you truly believe what you post or just trolling?
Republicans didn't like any of his policies. and some were definitely against having a black presidentI was referencing how when the Republicans were against one of Obama's policies they were charged with racism. You made my point. The Democrats are anti Indian.Republicans didn't like any of his policies. and some were definitely against having a black president

Would that constitute perjury? I’m genuinely curious.I'm waiting for the MAGA outrage about Patel committing perjury in his confirmation committee hearing when he said he would appoint a current FBI Special Agent to be his Deputy, which is SOP for that position. He chose Bondino who hasn't worked at the FBI.
I actually don't know, but MAGAs through around the perjury accusation constantly during the Biden administration. Usually, there wasn't even an associated lie.Would that constitute perjury? I’m genuinely curious.

If I make a pledge under oath to do X at a future time and then do Y instead of X, is that perjury?
My layman’s guess is that a prosecutor would have to prove that you knew at the time you made the statement that you weren’t planning on following through with the pledge. Mens rea.I actually don't know, but MAGAs through around the perjury accusation constantly during the Biden administration. Usually, there wasn't even an associated lie.
Seems like a very poor and strange pick for Deputy FBI Director:My layman’s guess is that a prosecutor would have to prove that you knew at the time you made the statement that you weren’t planning on following through with the pledge. Mens rea.
Like, if there was documented evidence that the deputy director’s position was already offered to Bongino, or something like that.
I’ve just never heard of it being applied to a pledge to take some future action.
The dystopian irony of having an agency named for combatting three things that are all completely legal.I like the new ATF Director pick...

Dan Bongino's yearslong history of FBI criticism and conspiracy theories

Here’s Why Dan Bongino—Trump’s Pick For Deputy FBI Director—Is Controversial
Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, has been criticized for spreading several conspiracy theories as a talk show host.www.forbes.com
I've seen him on Fox a couple times and he's a weird guy IMO.It certainly does. I can't say I've listened to Bongino's talk shows all that much. But he's always struck me as an all-in tribalist loose cannon, which doesn't at all lend itself to this kind of role. It should be very interesting to see what Patel and Bongino do with this. I don't expect it will be anything good.
Of course, it's also true that Andrew McCabe held this position. If I recall, he was caught up in the Crossfire Hurricane debacle -- which is exactly the sort of thing you'd fear somebody like Bongino would do if he was interested in gumming up a presidential candidacy.
I'm not saying McCabe's disgraceful actions justify Bongino getting the job. But I would say it's not surprising that we ended up here -- and that it's a great example why politics needs to be kept completely out of the law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
It can easily lead to a tit-for-tat in the event of a different election result. And that's not what agencies like the FBI exist to do.
Without more, no.Would that constitute perjury? I’m genuinely curious.

Can we get a name change at least? Something closer to what the ATF actually does (in theory).
