Kane Tanaka passes away

Am watching a TV series of the wild animals living exposed to radiation at the Fukushima nuke plant area -- ten years on.
Some of the field mice actually had increase sperm count. A lot of the animals don't seem to have any long effects on them from the radioactive forest.

Okinawa: The island of almost-eternal youth

A highly unusual percentage of seniors on Japan’s Okinawa island live to 100. Their secret is “ikigai”, a unique sense of purpose.

On Japan’s Okinawa Island nicknamed the “island of longevity”, locals refuse to die. Residents suffer from low levels of heart disease, cancer and dementia, and Okinawans’ robust social life and strong sense of ikigai (a unique purpose in life) often keep them alive and healthy past the age of 100.

119!!! In her 40's when the "bombs" dropped.
What did she die from? She was 119!!!!!!! On a serious note. Great point about what she went through. I think of my grandpa. He was a father during the Depression and had his oldest in Germany during WW2. Then he has two sons who are drafted during the Korean Conflict. The youngest brother would have been in Vietnam except he lost sight in his left eye as a kid because a fish hook got stuck. Man, life was hard for Ms. Tanaka and truly is hard all the way around.
