I'd like to ask all the geniuses out there, just what was the game plan yesterday for IU. Clearly Ohio State's plan was to pack it in the middle and force IU to shoot deep shots, how did we counter this, surely
Archie knew this as this is what Ohio State did in Bloomington. How come it seems like we never have a plan, was there a plan to stop Kaleb Wesson?

Why didn't we try a zone or a box and 1 to stop Wesson.

Ask fpeaugh. He is a great teacher. He is well connected with IU big wigs. He knows all and sees all. He will have the knowledge you seek.

I'm no genius, but here goes. Sometimes a guy is just hard to stop and you have to tip you're hat to him. A guy like Wesson is just a very bad matchup for our team, too big for Morgan, too quick for Davis. Archie is set on the packline so I doubt we've ever even practiced a zone or box in one, so we certainly were't going to break one out, we haven't all season if I recollect. Offensively, I can't tell if we like to work inside out or work off penetration. Maybe a little of both depending on the defensive matchups. When OSU just straight packed the lane and removed penetration, when the ball went inside and they doubled Morgan, once he kicked it out we didn't pass the ball decisively around the perimeter to an open shooter. When that did occur, it was a brick. Add in unforced turnover after unforced turnover and, viola, you're losing.

On the converse, when we did double Wesson to take him away, they kicked it out and around quickly and decisively to an open shooter and made some of them.
