wife suggested we give up drinking for lent, she hardly ever drinks maybe a glass of wine at dinner, I almost feel like her suggestion was aimed totally at me.
Try it for a week and see how you both feel. Maybe just wait until selection Sunday. That will give you a good or bad reason to have a drink.wife suggested we give up drinking for lent, she hardly ever drinks maybe a glass of wine at dinner, I almost feel like her suggestion was aimed totally at me.
Wednesday is Ash Wednesday the start of lent, IU plays Rutgers at 7 o clock on Wednesday, not going to happenTry it for a week and see how you both feel. Maybe just wait until selection Sunday. That will give you a good or bad reason to have a drink.
Why not? Gotta start somewhere. Or you could buy some weed or edibles. You’ll sleep better and feel better the next day.Wednesday is Ash Wednesday the start of lent, IU plays Rutgers at 7 o clock on Wednesday, not going to happen
Yeah, just don't buy the e-cig carts. They're great when they work, but if you get a dud, which happened to me recently, you're out $75 with no recourseWhy not? Gotta start somewhere. Or you could buy some weed or edibles. You’ll sleep better and feel better the next day.
I have some people in my life that I am very close with who have battled alcoholism their entire life. It's a terrible disease. That is awesome that you were able to overcome it at the young age of 23. Tip of the cap to you sir.In all seriousness Kurt, I haven’t had a drink since I was 23. I would surely be dead if I continued to drink. I am no match for alcohol, and hope to never fight that battle again.
If you text her in similar manner as you post here after drinking, maybe you could offer a compromise and not text/post while drinking!wife suggested we give up drinking for lent, she hardly ever drinks maybe a glass of wine at dinner, I almost feel like her suggestion was aimed totally at me.
I just don't understand your need to share this very private conversation with your wife on a basketball message board. (sic)wife suggested we give up drinking for lent, she hardly ever drinks maybe a glass of wine at dinner, I almost feel like her suggestion was aimed totally at me.
that is very commendable, especially to recognize it at such an early age. I'm just a social drinker thoughIn all seriousness Kurt, I haven’t had a drink since I was 23. I would surely be dead if I continued to drink. I am no match for alcohol, and hope to never fight that battle again.

I haven't totally quit, but majorly cut back in recent months cause my liver levels were like off the charts and they said zero alcohol, zero acetaminophen, etc. Did I completely heed that. no, it's too abrupt and you will fail if you try that. What you need is a shit ton of good weed like Cav says. Go to Illinois and load up. It took me longer to get back to normal because I've been working from home for two years and it's just so easy to get up at 5:00 am and start watching whatever with your coffee, then get a glass of wine and get on work about 8:00. Weed affected me a little more than I liked at first and I didn't like it that early in the morning.that is very commendable, especially to recognize it at such an early age. I'm just a social drinker though
were you drinking all day every day? I only drink on weekends with friends, never at home and never alone, I appreciate your concern, but I'm doing okI haven't totally quit, but majorly cut back in recent months cause my liver levels were like off the charts and they said zero alcohol, zero acetaminophen, etc. Did I completely heed that. no, it's too abrupt and you will fail if you try that. I can do my job perfectly well completely buzzed, but the weed made me lazy at first and I just wanted to watch TV and monitor email till like I felt like getting on it, whereas I could be right on it at 7:00 with a cocktail. It takes some getting used to if you have never been a heavy pot smoker, and I never was and still am not ... I think for people that prefer alcohol, you just need to get used to not drinking and get used to getting high with your coffee, by the time you get showered etc., the edge is off and you can work and not want to drink. That worked for me, it was more immediate health concern than just getting bitched at, so I might have had more motivation, but it can work if you try it.
And it doesn't mean you have to quit drinking, just use weed to tone it down. I found that as soon as I adjusted to that, I wanted ice water or coffee to drink during the day more than anything, but you can still have a glass of wine at night. Try this stuff called Liverite LiverAid ... my levels were so high, I Googled for something to get my levels down and reviews said it worked. It does, my levels were so ridiculously high and as soon as I cut it back to one or two wines a day, after a couple months on that stuff ... completely back to normal next blood test.
That's good, I wouldn't say hard or all day at all, but every day, yes, and I typically still do, just a couple after dinner. Somedays I don't now, usually just weeknights because I want to get to be able to sleep for work the next day and not have insomnia. Weekends, I'm OK with nothing ... the reverse of what anyone that used to drink too much would think, but when the work stress is removed and I know I can sleep in, it's better and weed works just fine alone.were you drinking all day every day? I only drink on weekends with friends, never at home and never alone, I appreciate your concern, but I'm doing ok
Mine wasn't ever really that, never about fun or partying. Just maintaining a stasis buzz I could operate from at all times to deal with stress, and that's when I realized it needed to be shut down and find something else, because when I'd just try to go cold turkey, I'd get insomnia, watch movies all night, get bitched at more for trying to be good, and then more stress. Trust Cavwere you drinking all day every day? I only drink on weekends with friends, never at home and never alone, I appreciate your concern, but I'm doing ok

Who cares? I'm not gonna agree because of IU BBall/drinking problems. There's definitely a correlation to be studied there, and they can again claim another "pot gets you high" conclusion to a media write up for half a mil grant for psychology, but no, the community has wasted far more mil on Big Red over the last 20 years, should be a Big Red giving back campaign for Crean/Miller Emotional Distress/Disorder Foundation. CMEDDF, I just hope doesn't take on + CMW disorder at this point, too many similar lettersI just don't understand your need to share this very private conversation with your wife on a basketball message board. Well, I'm already up and getting my coffee going and watching news, but shouldn't we go totally QAnon here? It's totally possible that our guards have been receiving pulsed energy attacks for like 15 years, emanating from W. Lafayette. There's simply no doubt, Mitch Daniels is there, c'mon. I think Yogi was prepared for that and had been taking Ivermectin and wearing ear plugs since jr. high ... that's pure speculation though. It just makes you wonder, why didn't MD and Putin get along? That's the real question we need to answer in forum todayWho cares? I'm not gonna agree because of IU BBall/drinking problems. Btw “cannabis” like our friend @T.M.P. will always remind you to call it is a wonder drug. So many varieties. Most pot shops have a dipshit bud tender that doesn’t know too much about weed, but every once in awhile you get a mini Einstein when it comes to herbs.I haven't totally quit, but majorly cut back in recent months cause my liver levels were like off the charts and they said zero alcohol, zero acetaminophen, etc. Did I completely heed that. no, it's too abrupt and you will fail if you try that.
