Only bad part about that game was Coverdale's ankle.

The fact this and the Duke game were at Rupp made it extra sweet.

I was at that game. IU fans owned the arena.

Atmosphere was great. Back to Bloomington for the party afterwards. Good times.

I watched that game with a surprisingly large KSU crowd ..

They honestly thought they were going to win that game. Very confident group that ended up pretty much shocked and butt-hurt. Great gamefor us.

One of my favorite Gates football interviews was when he just established himself as the best TE in the league over Tony Gonzalez.

He was being asked to compare and he was saying all the right things, Tony is the best, he's the guy who I model myself after, etc then they asked Gates who would win in a basketball game and Gates got all serious, kind of pissed and bluntly said 'I'd kill him'.

Gates has always been a basketball player who played football.

It was that Kent State game that made me draft him one of the final rounds of a fantasy draft in 2004ish that made everyone in the room go 'who? Never heard of him'. 10 TDs later that season they did.
