Jesus Christ Kanaan.

I like Rice more every game. Fun to watch guys like Baldwin not be the best guard playing.

Galloway and Leal aren't the most talented, but they're playing like 5th year seniors, playing smart. Haven't seen thatf rom IU players in years. Kinda nice, to be sure.
For sure showing glimpses of 5th year seniors. Also still bonehead plays by both. Gallo gotta live with it. He is always hovering around out of control.

Goode and Ballo I would say are more of the leaders in play from our seniors.

When Malik comes back…he’ll start and should. But our core lineup needs to be:

Myles, Trey, Mack, Malik, Ballo, Goode, Tucker.

Bring Goode in for one of the bigs relatively early. Then sub big for big a couple times. Bring Tucker in for one of the others if they’re gassed or in foul trouble.

Kanaan should still be played, but never played when 2 of Rice, Mack, or Gallo are on the bench.

Basically NEVER have less than 3 starters in the game…absent foul trouble or injuries. always have either Myles or Trey in game. Always have either Malik or Oumar in game.

I don’t think they’re awful shots in a vacuum. But when the context if his struggles, and the score and situation are factored in, they were awful shots. Kinda feel bad for Kanaan. Hard place to be where he’s at right now.
Exactly. They were 2 wide open pull ups. They were shot by the wrong guy at the wrong time. If he gets going he knocks those down. Both led to transition buckets which highlighted them more.

Hard thing for a kid like him to accept a "lesser role" too. But he needs to hit reset a little bit, get his defense back, start attacking gaps more, looking for kicks back to guys like Mack and Goode and Rice. He can be of huge benefit to this team, but right now, that isn't by taking outside shots. For someone that's trying to become a professional basketball player at some level...and/or at a minimum, just trying to maximize his NIL value right now...it has to be incredibly frustrating to be going through what he is, and facing such decisions.

Too bad IU can’t ever blow anyone out so he could get 5-10 straight minutes in garbage time to just play freely, have fun and work the kinks out. I can’t recall a FG % this low, this far into the season from someone who’s in the regular (albeit barely now) rotation.

I think Carlyle needs to be in an eight man core. I just have to believe he’s going to get his confidence back.

Rice gets more comfortable with each passing game. I feel confident with the ball in his hands and the clock winding down. He's a good one to have on our side. Rice and Tucker make a nice combination as studs in the making.

Ballo, Goode and Rice also played with great energy today. At times, so did Mgbako. Seeing more than their usual effort and energy from all those guys was encouraging.
They didnt have one guy who could stay in front of Myles. Hope he keeps up the aggressiveness.
