Too many people are trying to "read between the lines" when they should just listen to and take at face value what is being said.
Archie just trying to keep the expectations low. I think Jerome will play this year and play often.
Hunter is obviously one of the most talented players on next season's IU team, so Hunter's health is a big key to the upcoming season.
So, you would rather Archie say,
"Jerome is doing great and we are expecting big things from him next year!" ?
Sounds like to me that he was being cautiously optimistic but with knowing the condition that Jerome had, Archie is also realizing that there could be a setback and plenty of work ahead for him.
Sounds to me like Archie is acknowledging that he is not a doctor.
That’s a pretty good point. When IU knows Hunter is ready to go, I’m sure they will tell us.
What if we've seen him play in HS and in early practice?
Well I was dead wrong then. Pencil him in to play big minutes.

Hunter has a higher probability of being a solid contributer than upperclass players that have "proven" that they can't play at a high D1 level.

Wow, then why are coach's concerned with how players play in HS when they are being recruited? Obviously they have shown their talent and ability. Hunter was the 2nd highest recruit on the team last season, next to Romeo, who was the only healthy NBA talent that IU had.
I'm not expecting much from Hunter missed a year recovery nice kid but don't expect that much..
Ufo is obviously retroactively adjusting Davis' ranking. This is now allowed when discussing player rankings with you per the precedent you set yourself.
Ummm - I'm old enough to remember when "IU's season" didn't hinge on a guy who may never play again. ARCHIE IS UNDERACHIEVING!
