he apparently had a foot injury that kept him out of the last preseason game. No idea about what the prognosis is for him.

He'll be a free agent and can sign with any team when he's healed.

Rahrig still is listed on the Falcons' roster, along with Tevin.
 
For a little detail, linked below is an article that describes the contract Jake signed with the Falcons. 3 years, $1.62 million total and $450,000 for this year . . . IF he made the team. I had no idea what FA contracts looked like, so this was some quality information to see.

No indication of how much of that he gets in the injury settlement. Even if it's just two weeks' pay that's enough to move back to his mom and dad's in C-bus.

The settlement means that the player has an injury that is severe enough that rehab will go into the regular season but not severe enough to cost him the season. If they kept him during his rehab period they'd be on the hook for both is salary and the cost of his rehab.

So they basically agree to part ways, pay him whatever he would have made (so if it was a 3 week injury they'd pay him ~3 weeks salary), and the player agrees to go rehab on his own and relieve the team of that liability.
