Bummer. I was rooting for Jakai to stick it out and somehow get healthy. Still have a gut feeling he’s gonna be special someday.
DD probably thinks he doesn’t need 3-4 guys in boots at every game.
Is Cliff Marshall in the portal?
I’m surprised damn near every single player on every single team doesn’t enter the portal every year. You take the risk your current coach/team will take it personally, but it’s the business model that’s been created with NIL. You can basically go free agent every year and see what you’re worth.
Yeah. I’d tell my players at the beginning of every year “if you hit the portal, I wish you well, because your time here is done.”
Exactly and who’s going to pick up a guy that can’t play??
It says he can keep A scholarship--they can flip it from athletic to something else. I believe they have a right to stay and get the education, but not a spot on the team.

And if no one picks him up,getting a degree from Indiana carries a lot of weight for his future.
We need to worry about incoming players and forget about non contributors.
First time in many seasons that I was confident that incoming players are in capable hands.
Best wishes to Jakai. Wish the injury bug had been different. Wishing him good luck on that front. Still could be a player. If he ends up with us I won't mind us taking a flyer on potential.
I always wondered why we didn't get a guard who could actually play and contribute. Good luck to the kid. Didn't contribute at IU due to injury of course but non-the-less, no meaningful contribution. It's a binary world. DWS! Yes or no. Go Hoosiers!
Jakai won’t ever play high caliber bball. If you watched him this year it would be very obvious.
If he is one of the reasons why our players keep getting hurt he should be shown the door.

Well, I may be one of the few that thinks the 2 we got last year were good enough to contribute, but were horrible fits with Woodson--also most of the others actually saw what Woodson did for guards and were like, nope, not going there!! I get Kopp was not a guard, but his quote saying it was not his job to get Miller shots would be a big red flag to guards/wings who can shoot it
You have to wonder what kind of market there is for a guy Who is injured constantly and hasn't played consistent minutes since high school.

I’d imagine there are some who do say that to players. I probably would too.
Naaaa. IMHO players have a right to check their market value BEFORE they sign an NIL contract.
Like Cig says, you might take them back, you might not, and players need to realize that when they enter. Coach will go after them if he wants them, if not, well.
