Izzo doesn’t even have to do a post game. He can just replay this from last year and sit back and watch it:
Izzo made a great adjustment on the high hedge having the screener pop and become a passer. He was getting nothing from having him roll. We did a really poor job adjusting to that action... otherwise, and everywhere else, sure.
Great effort and outstanding coaching. His message at the under-8 timeout won this ballgame for us. It is now time for all the Archie haters to go into hibernation. If these kids could learn to make free throws, we could make some noise at the end of the year.
Gotta agree on the "high hedge"; MSU was taking advantage of that on multiple occasions in the second half. In fairness, their 3 point shots were (all) falling which made that strategy look genius. Great team win for IU with multiple players contributing. Sure seems like IU's younger players are improving game to game (JH and AF among them).
Yep. The game plan was forcing the ball out of Winston's hand. Considering he is probably the best guard in college BB, or close to it.... it's not a bad strategy. The other guys were knocking down shots.... that's the dice you roll. Doesn't mean it's a bad decision. You either have the guards fight through the screens and risk having him slice you to death... or you let other guys take outside shots.
I really wished they would have played more straight up and forced him to carry them. I think our rim defense is good enough. But it worked well enough.
Izzo is such a cnt. His post game.... trashing Franklin that he dared to make a shot. Just acts like it's a fluke and was terrible luck they lost.
He did the exact same thing last year when Smith buried some perimeter shots. He essentially called it a complete fluke...pretty much making excuses for his strategy.
Izzo is an over-rated whiner that has had some very good players make him look good.
Izzos plays after timeouts were pretty good too. Not good enough to beat Miller though lol...
