Totally agree! He was a big IU proponent all year and then during the game I thought he was the Buckeye color commentator. Geezus, I wanted to slap him and Gus through the screen. I guess he's back on the IU bus now. Not sure what was up with the game-call.

Klatt’s main point in his podcast was imo critical: based on the “sacrosanct” strength-of-schedule rankings and the “quality” of their respective losses, IU currently has a stronger case for playoff inclusion than Notre Dame, Miami or SMU.

I've taken an agnostic view of all commentators (excluding uni specific commentators)

Their gonna elevate for whoever is doing well at a particular moment.

Obviously, Saturday it was better to tune in Fish an live with the delay in video.

Agree... Klatt at times was a clown on Saturday but this makes up for it, IMO>....

As for Gus Johnson .... never have liked him.... his phony "enthusiasm" makes me want to barf on my screen.... On the other hand I felt he was always pretty kind toward IU, all things considered..... but, seriously, who talks like that in real life... no one.

One thing I learned in my 40 some years in sports broadcasting is that the best announcers sound... natural. Johnson is far from that.

I won't get into why I think he gets placed in some of the key games....

I never realized how much he repeats himself until Saturday. He has a few phrases and observations that he uses repeatedly as some sort of crutch.
