Back from the Bahamas.
For some reason when I tried to access this site I got a “site forbidden” message. Don’t know why but it kept me from posting.
Game 1. Columbia. We had much more length and I thought we should have won by a larger margin. The game was even closer than the final score. We really just pulled away at the end. Lilly played great and when she needed a blow Strip stepped in and scored. Nice win.
Game 2. Baylor. Baylor was ranked about 17th and I thought we would likely lose. Shay put on a show (she is really fast) with shooting and dribbling. We lost Syd in this game. I saw her having breakfast the next day with her parents but I did not want to bother them so I did not ask any questions. I think I just said good luck or something. IU always seems to play injuries close to the vest. I did over hear someone say that they thought the ACL was intact. An MCL might be 4-6 weeks (I think) but no surgery. They came in on a private jet and flew out today so I assume she will have an MRI Wednesday. Doesn’t mean we will know anything but the team will.
Game 3. North Carolina. We were destroyed. The first couple of minutes we were ahead and then the debacle began. They were much faster than we were, were constantly getting into passing lanes, and I think we scored maybe 13 points in the entire second half. Multiple coaches stood up on our bench and yelled instructions to our players while there was live game action. I don’t remember that happening before. I watched the post game pressor on you tube and someone left a comment that they played like there was some underlying team discord. Hopefully that is not the case. Jules did a nice job filling in the minutes that may have gone to Parrish. She rebounded, drew charges, and seems ‘a tough out” to quote a baseball phrase.
On the good side; Lex played so her injury seems resolved. Beau is not yet playing but at least is out of a boot and no crutches. Sydney Fenn is red shirting this yaar tho that is old news.
