IUPUI Program - What is the ceiling? Any progress?

OK, I could not find the IUPUI bball message board so am posting here. I do not live in Indy now but have always wondered if IUPUI can develop a program. W/ being in the heart of bball county and an urban feel that would be attractive to many players, I would think they should be able to recruit. I have not been to the Pepsi Coliseum lately but the idea of playing in an old school arena should be attractive (in a Semi-Pro kind of way). I think the Horizon will be a great conference for them - much better than the funky Summit.

Can Gardner get it done? Loved him as a player at Az, and would be neat to see a local kid develop the program.

What do they need to do to have success. New arena on campus? Get some stud Euros in? Hire Alford or Bryce Drew? Hire Bobby K and Gene K - why not both?

Their campus isn't appealing. Their facilities aren't appealing. They don't play on campus. They don't present oppuntunities for national broadcasts. They have no tradition and almost no notable alumni. Their coach has put no one in the NBA.

They have a lot of hurdles to overcome.
