On a cold day, IU jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but MSU came back to score four to tie it. In the first, IU scored a run on two doubles. In the 2nd, IU got three runs on a double and three singles with an error mixed in. MSU scored three in the bottom of the 2nd, after a single and hit batter put two on, and MSU got a two-out homer to score three. In the 3rd, MSU got two runners on, with a runner scoring from 3rd on a two-out WP by Milto to tie the game. The cold weather may be affecting Milto today. IU has outhit MSU 7-4 so far.

This is one we've GOT to sweep. It's the worst team in the Big Ten.

IU started the 5th with three straight singles to load the bases and MSU went to their bullpen. The relief pitcher walked both Dunham and Walker to score two runs. Cross reached on a FC with Richardson forced out at home for the first out. Ashley then walked to score another run, forcing MSU to their bullpen again for the second time with bases loaded and one out. Their second relief pitcher walked Gorski to score another run. Lloyd struck out for the second out. Another run scored when Bradley reached on a throwing error by the ss. Barr struck out to end the inning.

Its fun when the other team is making errors for runs.

P.S. you do a GREAT job keeping us Hoosier baseball fans aware. Keep it up my man.

IU started the 6th with Richardson reaching 1st on a strikeout WP. Dunham then doubled putting runners on 2nd and 3rd. Walker then walked to load the bases with no outs, chasing yet another relief pitcher as MSU is on their fourth pitcher. Cross popped up for the first out. A WP scored Richardson and Ashley hit a double to bring in two more runs which ended the scoring in the inning.

Milto mowed them down in order in the 6th. I don't know if he will be out there for the 7th. He's settled down from the early innings and is at 76 pitches right now.

Milto is back out there for the 7th. Bunnell has replaced Bradley at 1st.

In the 8th, Cross added to the score with a solo homer. I have to give Cross his due for this game. He's 2 for 4 at the plate with a homer and double, has two RBIs, and has scored three runs.

Braden Scott has replaced Milto in the 8th. Milto gave up four earned runs on eight hits, including the one homer, and had 7 Ks.

Good job by Scott in the 8th. After getting the first out on a K, a double, a passed ball, and a walk put runners on the corners; however, Scott struck out the next two batters to end the inning with no damage done.

Wyatt must have motivated himself reading the thread on the catching situation. Was the passed ball in the 8th his only defensive miscue? If we keep winning until Fineman comes back, this playing time for Cross could benefit us in the post season. I just hope Fineman is staying involved in the gameplans and pitch strategies.
