IU is one of best bubble teams, committee can’t fall for group think...

We are ahead of OSU and Minnesota in NET, Sagarin, and Kenpom rankings

The idea that it's a slam dunk that OSU should be in over us is not borne out by the facts if the goal is to have the best at-large teams in as opposed to the teams with the best records.

And both of those teams cleaned our clock 3 out of 3 games. But.....who’s counting?

This reeks of pure desperation.

Most people in this thread are looking at our record in isolation and applying some arbitrary measurement of "deserves". Deserve has nothing to do with it. It's about our resume compared to other teams under consideration. There are going to be 68 teams in the tournament no matter what anyone thinks about who "deserves" to be in. When you look at who we've beaten and who we've lost to and compare that to other teams like Seton Hall, Alabama, and Belmont, we look pretty good. I don't think we'll get in but we certainly aren't dead yet.

Exactly right. They are supposed to pick the best at large teams. We are one of them, no question about it. If IU isn’t selected, than they simply didn’t do their jobs.

This is some fans version of a participation ncaa berth. We didn’t earn it. Should’nt be rewarded for a season like this. Want to go to NCAA , don’t lose 12/13.
We’re entitled cause we’re Indiana, maybe we should bribe some committee members

i don't think the word "deserves" means what you think it means

I know exactly what it means and it has nothing to do with how teams are selected. It’s our resume compared to other teams in consideration that matters, not whether an individual team “deserves” anything. There are a lot of people who seem to want our team to be punished for not achieving what they wanted them to achieve.

Yes. The weak showing in the BTT left a bad last look but the the Quad score numbers still favor IU over Minn and OSU and a few other bubble teams discussed of whom the talking heads are calling "in".

Guess we'll see if the released algorithms mean anything or not.

Hopefully you woke up from your dream. We deserve NIT. This was not a basketball smart team, no outside shooting, turnovers, and unforgiving poor free throw shooting. You get what you play for.
