Our 2 best players are mostly back to the basket bigs who understandably struggle to defend on the perimeter. Our best defensive minutes this yr have occurred with 1 of them on the bench. PSU was handing us our ass with their small lineup. But yet Woodson was determined to brow beat them with a big lineup. We also could have possibly beat their press for some quick scores or 3 pointers with a smaller lineup. Many coaches would have tried to match up with a smaller lineup in the 2nd half. So for the umpteenth time, Woodson’s stubbornness contributes to a bad loss. Typically, NBA coaches are great at adjusting to big or small lineups when the opponent is taking advantage of you. Woodson doesn’t.
