I have a credit card that’s linked to an airline and use it for most of my purchases. It gives us priority boarding, free checked bags and, in many instances, reward (free) travel.

I do the same. I flew roundtrip to Flagstaff and back for about $25 and 20,500 miles. I pay for almost everything with my American Airlines card and put almost 10,000 miles back into my account on the trip.
Delta card here. Wife gets her trips back to the frozen north for next to nothing.
