“The destruction of that site, as well as other IDF strikes in Syria targeting weapon shipments to Hezbollah, led Iran to rethink its strategy, according to the military, and to establish a new underground facility that would be safe from Israeli strikes.”
“The site that Iran constructed was 70-130 meters (230-430 foot) underground and thus virtually impossible to destroy from the air.”
“Iranian digging into the mountain at the research center began in late 2017. The IDF said it had intelligence on the facility from the moment construction began.”
“The facility was built in the shape of a horseshoe, with one entrance on the side of the mountain for raw materials and an exit nearby for the completed missiles. A third entrance adjacent to those two was used for logistics and to reach offices inside the facility. The office section also connected to the manufacturing section inside.”
“Along the horseshoe were at least 16 rooms housing the production line for the missiles, from planetary mixers for the rocket fuel to missile body construction and paint rooms.”
“The facility was not yet completely active when Israel launched its operation against it, but according to the military, it was at the final stages of being declared operational by Iran. At least two missiles had been successfully manufactured as part of testing, and rocket engines were already being mass produced.”
Why is the media now reporting on a raid that happened 3 months ago?
Reason #1….impress the locals with Israeli military capabilitiesThe info was just released a couple of days ago... Besides..., there's no possible angle to use to disparage Israel in this story... 😉
Clear Military Target that presented an obvious threat... Why would the media be interested in That kind of story...??? 🍺
😎
Have to imagine Biden is desperate to get this done before the week is out.
Eric is half right. Trump deserves a lot of credit for this, but it wasn't Hamas that moved, it was Bibi. Just heard from an analyst on NPR: this is one of the most damning indictments of the outgoing administration, because Bibi was the barrier to getting this done, and Biden refused to lean on him. Trump however was able to exert leverage before even taking office.

The deal is a horrible one for everyone except HamasIsrael-Hamas ceasefire live updates: Netanyahu says ‘last-minute crisis’ is holding up approval
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a “last minute crisis” with Hamas was holding up Israeli approval of the agreement to pause the fighting in the Gaza Strip and release dozens of hostages.apnews.com
Why?The deal is a horrible one for everyone except Hamas
Why?
Most of the Gazans being released are being held without charges. Not exactly what you want modern Western countries to do, anyway.
Hamas gets a couple thousand terrorists back. They get the pressure off. “Gaza reconstruction over 3 to 5 years”….if true “estimations are 50-60 billion USD”. We financing this?
Hamas gets to declare victory. What will people see….1. Released terrorists and 2. IDF forces retreatingMost of the Gazans being released are being held without charges. Not exactly what you want modern Western countries to do, anyway.
Staying in the Philadelphi corridor is a huge get for Israel.
This deal is good for a lot of folks from many different POVs. Most importantly, it gives a couple million people a break from constant war, and starts the process of repatriating the hostages.
That is a very cynical take on this. Israel gets to declare victory, too: hostages released and they continue to control the border.Hamas gets to declare victory. What will people see….1. Released terrorists and 2. IDF forces retreating

Not going to be a Hamas victory by any means. They don’t comply, the deal is off and they get hammered again. They have little leverage or strength left.Hamas gets to declare victory. What will people see….1. Released terrorists and 2. IDF forces retreating
Yeah…see you again in a few yearsNot going to be a Hamas victory by any means. They don’t comply, the deal is off and they get hammered again. They have little leverage or strength left.
Pretty sure that goes both ways. Isn't Bibi still promising eventually total victory? This thing isn't over by a long shot. Just give these poor folks a bit of a respite.
