Israel under attack from Hamas

From ISW 10/17 … About time the Pentagon decided to defend Navy sailors in the Red Sea.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted multiple precision airstrikes in unspecified locations in Houthi-controlled Yemen on October 16 targeting Houthi underground weapons storage facilities that contained “various advanced conventional weapons.” [21] CTP-ISW reported on October 15 that Houthi efforts to build an extensive tunnel network in the Houthi-controlled mountainous region between Sanaa and Sa’ada have intensified.[22] This was the first time that the US Air Force used B2 Spirit long-range stealth bombers against Houthi targets. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III called the CENTCOM strikes “a unique demonstration of the United States’ ability to target facilities that our adversaries seek to keep out of reach.”[23] Austin added that the US will continue to “degrade Houthis‘ capability to continue their destabilizing behavior“ attacking vessels in the Red Sea.[24]

So, does anyone think Sinwar's death will have any effect on the duration/outcome of the war.
Doubt it. I guess it is possible if the people coming up behind him are tired of dying. You keep killing leaders until they collapse or you come upon the guy who doesn't want to end up in a video with a huge hole in his head.....

Or their people finally turn on them themselves. I doubt this one dude changes the timeline much though.

It was always coming and was certain as soon as the Navy was attacked. It takes a bit of time to plan operations for maximum efficiency. This follows our 5 October strikes. As we like to say, they can run, but they'll just die tired.

Not a chance unless the IDF is running the soup kitchen.

We are literally funding the hostage takers
Can't we just let the U.N. handle it?

Hamas is holding them, not WHO, not UNICEF, not generic "Palestinians."
Generic Palestinians were holding some of the ones that were captured and released. The hostages themselves indicated that it was "civilians" that had them. Heck, Hamas themselves said they couldn't account for all the hostages because they didn't take all of them.

When it comes to the Palestinians, the UN operation in that area is in bed with Hamas. The aid we sent in the past was requisitioned by Hamas. Let the Egyptians, Jordanians, and Gulf states fund the humanitarian efforts. They don't want to open their doors to help their "brothers" so they can at least open their wallets.
