He can’t really win with you people can he? If he had gone ahead and joined the air war with Israel we’d be hearing from Democrats (as we are already) about how he’s running head long into another ME quagmire.
Now, he gives Iran every opportunity to disable their nuclear program peacefully and he’s chickening out.
There are lot more moving parts to the Iranian terror net than have been discussed... Why they haven't been activated yet is a mystery but it more than likely has the do with the decapitation of their leadership structure and the concern by the remaining leaders of bringing the US into the mix...

I too am torn. I don't want us fecking about in that region. That said Iran has had an Uncle Sam sized ass kicking coming since 1979, so if we help Israel end the existential threat of a nuclear capable Iran then so be it. But no half measures.

Does Israel have Nukes? I wouldn't trust their govt and Netnyahu anymore than Iran. It was convenient for them to backstab the supposed Iran negotiations going on with Trump/US. It was convenient for them to be totally off guard in the Oct. 7th BS.
Who knows maybe Trump was in on all this and was providing some distraction so Israel can get the bombings underway. Trump can't seem to wait until Gaza can be cleared out and rebuilt with money making hotels and resorts. Didn't Adelson give him 100 mil.
Netanyahu keeps pushing US to join the war and send troops. US already involved enough but certainly the warhawks are happy to proceed with a regime change. Stay out from the aspect of sending troops and another 20 year occupation or whatever Afghan and Iraq were.

Also, I think this two week deadline is Trump's way of saying we are absolutely not entering the war. If we were going to enter the war, we'd have to do it much sooner than that.
No question Iran is doing better than expected, but that sounds like nonsense.
No..., that's the timeline to get all of our assets in, or near, Theater and up to speed and on the same page of music, while giving the Israelis plenty of time to get the job done without us... It also gives the Iranians a little more time to make the Big Mistake and hit us first...
I think Trump will give them every opportunity to acquience and stop their nuclear program and allow unfettered IAEA access. If they don't take it...... boom.
The long term problem (in my mind) is that with their oil resources ($$$$$) they'll be able to just buy the components (and the technicians to build it) for an A Bomb from a combination of North Korea and Pakistan unless those oil resources are made unusable for at least the short term (if there is no positive regime change)... I don't see how they can leave the Iranian oil producing infrastructure intact and believe that they won't use that income to clandestinely reconstitute their nuclear program...
The short term problem (morphing into the really long term) is that the doesn't appear to be any way to trigger a certain positive regime change...
If I were the Israelis and regime change were one of my goals, I'd go after every vestige of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps along with any known members of their internal religious police just to give any would be Iranian George Washingtons some breathing room but even then I have my doubts whether such a personality exists inside or outside Iran...
