She said it was during the post season meeting they first got an inkling she wasn't coming back, and it was NIL. It still sounds strange since she also says how foreign players are restricted from earning money. So I guess a group in Israel connected to Maryland is funding her?

Lily wanted to not play center.

Coach is planning on giving up some of the Xs and Os to spend more time building relationships with the players.

I'm still bitter

Thanks for posting. I had thought that Lex (no offense), Lilly (not enough offense), Sandvik (not sure, I thought she could contribute), and Jules (she had to play a W or PW spot at only 6’1”) left due to coaches telling them she had to recruit over them for playing time. I thought a little of that was confirmed when (other than Lilly) they went to smaller programs.
This article seems to say it was about playing time but equally about relationships. Am I reading this correctly?
Yardon apparently left strictly for money which I completely understand and wish her the best. I am fantastically disappointed that we did not match the money.
I sure hope our new bigs are good and our guards surprise. Right now I think we have a .500 roster.

I don't think we could match Garzon's money, she could only be paid from Israel. So I am guessing Maryland has more/better benefactors in Israel.

I wanted Lily to stay, but she doesn't shoot well enough to be a stretch 4. She was undersized as a 5.

I really don't think I'll miss any of the girls who departed with the exception of Yarden.

Lily lost any shred of confidence she had by around the start of the B1G season. It even prompted coach to say at one point "Lily is playing just ok. OK Lily isn't good for us". Even though she had a couple encouraging moments at seasons end, she was broken. She needs a change and I hope it works out for her.

Lamendola never seemed to "get it". Just seemed like the game never slowed down for her. Never seemed mentally checked in.

Coach says she's expecting big things from Beaumont. I hope that comes to be. I'm looking forward to seeing the freshman. Hopefully they can contribute early.

Anyway, the more I see / hear about Yarden, the more bitter I feel towards her.

Don't get attached to any players anymore. It is all money now.

I agree she was undersized as a 5. It seems she was listed 6’2” and 6’ 3” but she did not jump great and that emphasized that length not being 6’4”. She struggles to score close or farther out and we needed more offense from the position. I wish her well, I don’t know much about Kansas.

Beau was the girl I was hoping to be the big jump from year one to year two. I have the same hope now, tho we have to see what the injury did to any vertical, quickness, etc. With another year of film under her belt her basketball IQ must be up.
I read an article about Maya saying she was a good three shooter. Then I saw one that said she could play a 2 position. If that is true, I would love to have a 6’3” three point shooter as the SG with Shay as a SG and the new senior Jerni as our PG.
Hard to get any info this time of year.

Just had the extreme pleasure of sitting next to coach on a flight from Atlanta to Indy on Wednesday. Maybe since I told her we were both from Jackson County, she was very open about all things NIL, Rev Share, recruiting, and many other things regarding her program and college sports in general. Yarden has 3 agents/advisors/handlers or whatever. They were working on getting her more money during the season. Marylard ponied up. My take from it all: today's college athletics suck.
