Is this the worst attempt to try and get people to go “Green”?

Running and working in high heat and humidity never bothered me but I Hated trying to sleep in it... Stiil do.....
That's exactly the way I am... I worked many days out in the heat and it didn't bother me but I didn't like to sleep in it and, like you, I still don't.

When I lived in Slovenia we didn’t have air-conditioning. I got used to it. When I came back here I felt cold walking into a bank or a business. I usually have my thermostat set at 77. It cools the apartment enough to dehumidifier it. I agree with you, the most important aspect is the D humidification factor. I don’t want condensation and mold growing in the corners of my rooms.
Germany doesn't have much AC. They do in some of the more modern buildings.

I can tell you it gets kind of stinky in some of those offices.

Self segregation, sure.

In Wright (where I lived) all the black kids sat at the same tables together in the dining room. Always the same tables, always together.

My RA in Wright was a grad student from Africa, Ethiopia IIRC. He'd talk shit (with an accent) with the black kids when they referred to him as "ni**er": "I'm no ni**er, I'm an African. You all are ni**ers."

It was a different time. Yet in many ways, nothing has really changed.
In Briscoe, the guy we shared a phone box (remember those?) with was a guy from Nigeria. I think his name was Udoma. Great guy. He arrived in January and tried to walk on ice with his leather-soled shoes. Poor guy - it took him a while to get his wardrobe up to speed.

One time we just sitting around and Udoma said "Dan, I just don't understand these black boys". Cracked me up.

I remember living in Teter my freshman year without AC. It was hell.
I was an RA in Teter. Never had AC in any dorm while I was there.

The window fan was your best friend back then. Believe it or not, the fan I bought at K-Mart in 1975 was still working 40 years later.

I use to have to walk to all of my classes in college, then this one day, I found a really crappy 10-speed bicycle just sitting there unlocked. I didn't think anyone probably owned it, so I just started riding it.
I didn’t know you attended Podunk also.

I grew up without AC and I don't recall it being a big problem, but today I don't think I could do it.

I used to work with a farmer's wife. Her husband absolutely never wanted AC on saying he needed to stay adjusted to the heat. It sounds a little crazy but has AC made us extra soft on heat?
I honestly don't like to go in where it's cool if I'm working in high heat and high humidity because, to me, it makes it feel even hotter when I go back out into it,.

100% on that one and it's not that good for you either. I don't like ice water if Im out in real heat, cooler than air temp but not so cold
