Is this defensive scheme worth it?

NFS, Sherlock.

When Kansas won the NCAA Championship in 2008, Pickens was ready to finance a megabuck deal to bring Self to Stillwater. You know, Self’s ALMA MATER? And he wouldn’t leave for cash that is equivalent (or more) than what Coach K or Calipari are making now.

So, let’s get this straight, shall we?

Self could have been the highest paid coach in college basketball - by a wide margin. At his Alma Mater, no less. And despite all that, he turned it down.

Yet , incredibly, you stated this:

THERE’S your dumbest post of all time.
The offer was never made. Just conjecture.

Donovan and Stevens turned IU down.

You would have crucified Tony Bennett's record at IU. Tony Bennett's first 4 years at UV: [1] 15-16 (5-11); [2] 16-15 (7-9); [3] 22-10 (9-7); [4] 23-12 (11-7). Bennett has made it to the Elite 8 once, had the most embarrassing loss in the history of the NCAA's last year, and doesn't recruit big names. If you like Bennett, you should love Archie. Paying more for Bennett literally accomplishes nothing.

You really think Bill Self is leaving Kansas?

You have lost your mind if you think Archie and Bennett are in the same class.

Ask Chris Mack, Tony Bennett, and Tom Izzo how the scheme has worked for them. Personnel is the bigger issue. That will improve as the coach has a chance to establish the program, upperclassmen are there to help teach the system (who have been in it more than one year), and players who better fit the system are brought in and prepared. 2nd year of a new system isn't the time to have this discussion....
