I always find these conversations to be amusing. I am a nationalist. Most of us are to varying degrees and threads like this are an indication of that. Mas would make the point that "Well look at all the countries the US has invaded, why does Russia not have that same right" and my answer would be that we have better reasons and we tend to be a more positive player on the world stage while Russia/Fmr. Soviet Union is/was not.
Are the US and Euros hypocrites on their stances? Absolutely. In this instance (and many others) do I care? No. I am not a fan of globalist organizations like the WEF and the West has its own issues IMO. However, Russia being their antagonist as well doesn't mean Putin is an ally in that fight. He just wants to put you under a different yoke and his version (and the Chinese) is a much more stringent form of coercion.
Ukraine is corrupt, Zelensky is cracking down on Russian aligned entities and political rivals in his country, they are suffering, the Euros are suffering because of their dependence on Russian energy, we should have debate about the money spent and our role in the conflict. I think all of these things are true and I still want the Russians to lose and believe we should support their opposition in some form or another because Putin is an authoritarian leftover of the worst of the Soviet Union's worst predilections.
So I am a total hypocrite. We can do it and they can't because I think, despite our warts, we are better than them.
