Interesting. How will this play with some here?

As Brian Snow often reminds me. “It’s not 1987 anymore and we aren’t the program that we used to be!”

I guess we should be happy to just make the tournament.

I think that the coaches, players and most of the fans have higher expectations that to "just make the tournament".

IMO, IU still has a lot of the components to be an elite program again. It is just finding the right guy to lead it. Is Archie that guy? Even though I was exciting about the hire and still back him, it is yet to be determined if he is THE guy. For me, he has the rest of this year and next year to prove it.

I don't know why you post this stuff. I can't see how it adds anything except to make you happy.

Indiana must compete for the top of the B1G year after year. Indiana must get into the NCAAT every year. Indiana needs to win in the NCAAT routinely getting into the Sweet 16 would be outstanding.

Hanging The Banner for an NCAAT Championship is the goal. It should be in our reach sometimes and certainly in our dreams.

I just don't understand how anyone could get the jollies getting on a chat site and issuing negative propaganda repeatedly like you and others do.

I don't know anyone that has been happy with IU's performance in the last 3 years. But if you can't see the silver lining behind that cloud. then that is on you.

Most of the top teams in the country have questions about their roster that far out too. Particularly in the one and done era, most top players are gone within a year or two.

Looking at the rest of the BIG, who doesn't have questions about 21-22?
I may be wrong, but I think @.Gerdis was driving at something more than just roster questions in 21-22 and beyond. As you said, everyone has those. I think the point was that, even if this year and next turn out to be pretty nice, it's more important how a coach does past the initial rebuild phase. Crean's initial rebuild brought IU a very nice 2-year window of opportunity, after which were mostly disappointments.

Maybe Archie's slow grind forward will bring less volatility moving forward, maybe not. Hopefully, it's a lot of fun finding out

That could be true.

I am not 100% in on Miller yet and the line of thought you brought up makes sense. Gerdis is not usually a shit poster but I could see one of the people who do tend that way kind of grabbing onto that argument. I think some criticism of Miller up to this point has been fair, but I also didn't want to go down a path where we are criticizing the current Freshmen and Sophomores on the team for not performing like a one and done out of the gate.

Our guards are not that good. I think Green has the highest per at around 18. Plus we have no idea who is going to come to play on what night which will cost us some games.

If Rob can step up and give us a steady, quality starting guard that will be the difference between us being a solid top 25 team and a top 40ish team.

He hasn't been able to string together multiple good games.

That's our Achilles heel.
Green is fading fast.
A major disappointment for 4 years.
