"Indy Classic" announced , to replace Crossroads Classic...

They were both. I live in NC and date a Tar Heel so I watched a lot of them last year. Even when they were struggling early you could see they weren't deep but had a really solid starting 5. But, they were adjusting to a new HC and even though Hubert had been on staff, I have a feeling his style is very different from Roy. Plus they were adding new pieces in Brady Manek and Dawson Garcia, and then Garcia left (which many point to as a key; I just thought it was more the tumblers finally aligning, but he didn't seem to fit their rotation... maybe competing and playing differently than Manek?) and they started figuring it out. But as I watched them struggle early in the year, I kept telling my GF that I thought there was a pretty good starting five there. But, I don't think it was a "hot streak". They had solid individuals and a good starting 5 all along, and it just took them 3/4 of the season to get it figured out.
speaking of Garcia, did he get a waiver yet? Without it he has to sit and watch up in MSP next winter. This is his 2nd transfer.

This is a great reminder for what IU's history specifically does for the program.

UNC matchup in the ACC challenge...despite finishing as low as we did last year in the B10.

Arizona and Kansas matchups to replace Crossroads games.

Outside a handful of anomalous good seasons, IU basketball has been mediocre to bad, since the mid 90s. We barely squeaked into the NCAA's last year, and got destroyed by a mid major by 30 when we got there. We didn't add any lottery pick type talent to our roster. And despite all that, we're projected to win the B10, and are showing up as an outside shot type team to make a Final Four... and we have these amazing games to look forward to. Purdue has owned us basically in recent years. They've been better by pretty much any metric. They finished higher than we did in the conference. They just produced a top 5 pick...We got UNC, they got Florida State.

Media and casual fans, after close to 30 years, are STILL dying for IU basketball to be good. And they still couldn't care less about Purdue.
Truer words have never been spoken. Great take!
