Getting a big name was always to good to be true I guess. Let hope he can win right away as that will be needed given where this program sits right now.
Lets hope he is a little more open to help than woodson was.If this is the hire...I fully expect there will be "more" coming...including a GM, who will run NIL, scouting, etc... And that DeVries will be encouraged to bring in whatever staff he sees fit...including going and seeking out the brightest young minds available for offense, defense, and recruiting purposes.
The DeVries hire, by itself, isn't at IU's level...or shouldn't be. But Dolson could make it so pretty quickly, by leap frogging most of the college basketball world, and restructuring the entire program to be at the forefront of the new college bball world. Maybe he wanted to do that, and DeVries was just the right level of good basketball coach/mind, and not proven enough or just is open enough for it.
Or we were turned down by a whole lot of other people. If this is the hire...I fully expect there will be "more" coming...including a GM, who will run NIL, scouting, etc... Hey guys, I brought toast! We’ll get some butter. Or jam if things really go great.Dead program. Dead end, career killing job. Basically Georgetown.
I don’t get the doom and gloom. I’m pretty pumped about this guy.Dead program. Dead end, career killing job. Basically Georgetown.
He’s a Penn State hire I guess I know where we are.I don’t get the doom and gloom. I’m pretty pumped about this guy.
Its mostly just ok go out next year and show us you can win. It was not a big splashy hire that is going to get people super exited. If he starts winning they will get excited.I don’t get the doom and gloom. I’m pretty pumped about this guy.
He needs to kill it in the portal and try to flip Mullins.Hope Dolson got a good deal. Like 2 million per year. Ridiculous hire. We are not a blue blood

Your keyboard to God’s inbox. If he can get Mullins to flip I might get on board with the hire.
Lol. Did you not learn anything from the Louisville and sky hires last year?Hope Dolson got a good deal. Like 2 million per year. Ridiculous hire. We are not a blue blood
I don’t know what that means. But almost every single hire for the last several years of Blue Bloods had been a risk. Duke? Kentucky? Louisville? No one has named that area home runs. He’s a Penn State hire I guess I know where we are.
Or UK’s hire?Lol. Did you not learn anything from the Louisville and sky hires last year?
Doom and gloom are the fantasy guys on here that think Steven's was gonna say he'd do it for free.I don’t get the doom and gloom. I’m pretty pumped about this guy.
This is where I’m at. Woodson was so SO bad. TJD propped him up so much it’s not even funny.Doom and gloom are the fantasy guys on here that think Steven's was gonna say he'd do it for free.
I say let's see..
Bunch also went Cignetti he's been at James Madison...He can't play with the big boy's..
All I know it's not Woodson again. And that's a plus.imo
Had his boy not gotten hurt they’re a 22+ winner team this year.I’m ok with it, not excited, but ok. I do like that he engineered first year significant improvements at two schools.
I’m so tired of hearing about Brad Stevens..Doom and gloom are the fantasy guys on here that think Steven's was gonna say he'd do it for free.

No it isn't, Pope is actually a good coach. This guy is trash ..This is a Mark Pope hire: what an inspiration and model to base the program.
Nothing but Round of 64's on the resume, .500 in conference at a big boy school. Luke warm BS.No it isn't, Pope is actually a good coach. This guy is trash ..
