Indiana Announces 2019-20 Men's Basketball Schedule

Deal but I’ll never say I’m anti IU.

How about I put “I’m an ignorant clown who doesn’t know what I’m talking about” if we make the tournament and you put “I’m an ignorant clown who listens to Fpeaugh now” if we miss it?
It’s a bet. However, we both know you’re anti-IU.

Two things. You do NOT hope you’re wrong. You are a coward for not betting on your conviction that IU won’t make the tournament.

You say you don’t gamble for money. How about we make wager that doesn’t include money. If IU doesn’t make the tournament I’ll put something you’d like in my signature. Maybe something like “fpeaugh is a great IU fan.” If IU makes the tournament you put “I’m an anti-IU troll and a clown” in your signature.

Wager noted and accepted. I know you feel confident fpeaugh, but I think Indiana not only makes the tournament, but they actually get a decent seed

That looks like a weak preseason schedule. What am I missing?
Looks like they are going to and build their NCAA resume the hard way
by beating up on B10 members. I agree the preseason is weak kind
of a Cleveland State schedule.

The B10 road games are favorable as well...should be able to win them all...

I’d be glad to be wrong. I know we missed it last year based on the one inexcusable drought, but this team is so much worse than last year. The schedule is awful but I still don’t see it happening.

Keep it coming! Hilarious stuff.

What do you expect? IU to play Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Gonzaga, and Kentucky? Nobody does that. IU has a good balance of P5 foes and tune ups to get ready for the B10. La Tech and South Dakota State are solid mid-majors.

In their defense they would gladly add KY to that schedule if Slimey John wasn't what he is.

No shit, nobody plays that schedule? Thanks for the tip

Western Ill - 305
Portland St -265
N. Alabama -309
Troy - 259
Princeton - 183

The only tuneups are LT and SDS. The first 5 games are garbage. How do you get a team ready for the conference with a November filled with that at home? It's dissapointing to see the schedule revert to that.

He even has an incentive clause in his contract to reward him for NOT scheduling cupcakes with ratings under 300. That was a direct result of the last guy doing it.

I will go with a prediction of 16-15 to 18-13 range prior to the BTT. However, admittedly I’m not sure what other teams have returning.

I think this season has a lot of questions. It would appear we are not as talented as last year because Morgan and Langford are gone. However, the chemistry wasn’t there along with a multitude of injuries and the team seemed to be disinterested at times. Everyone knows the challenges last year’s team had. Hopefully all of this is resolved.

At the end of the day, I believe it will be a grind to make the tourney but possible.

If IU can’t win 18-20 games with that schedule then the program really isn’t ready for prime time. That’s a Crean-esque slate of games and a clear admission that the program needs a step ladder to reach some of the higher shelves.

Yes, the first three opponents are exhibition-game quality of yore. And Portland State lost a star player, Deante Strickland, to domestic violence. The schedule needn't be that compromised in quality. There is plenty of interesting non-300 level regional opposition to schedule.

I don’t disagree about the non conference schedule. It is extremely soft. I’m not entirely sure how good the best non conference teams (ND, FSU, UConn, and Arkansas) are projected to be this year.

Again, it’s an obvious admission that IU needs to move down a flight or two to both play at an easier level as well as to pad the resume. Looks like they went to far, which could be an issue with the selection committee next March.

I'm pretty sure he turned on Miller after the 1st loss in his 1st season at IU. I'm not sure it wasn't a ploy to pretend to be an IU fan.
I don't think he even tries to pretend to be an IU fan. Claiming he's a fan while constantly trashing IU basketball and football isn't much of a try.

Here it was. He was all in on the hire.

If we can't get Brad or Billy, my #1 choice is Archie...and it's not even remotely close. I mean there's a mile between anyone else on the list. The guy can recruit, he can coach, and he'd build the kind of brand we need at IU.

Not really. We know about the injuries, but that is all. The lack of effort midseason is still an unknown.

No I didn’t give up on him until the dumpster fire last year coupled with the disastrous recruiting.

It has been discussed in a lot of threads about the chemistry issues and IU not playing hard and seeming disinterested at times. Is that disputable?

Or are you saying we aren’t in the know as to why there was chemistry issues and lack of effort? If so, I’m not sure anyone outside the locker room would know the details.

I am hoping the team can put those things behind them and avoid another year of mediocrity.

Its a shame Archie has done so poor in one of those categories that the other 2 havent really even mattered...
I've been pretty patient like I was with the previous guy, but now I'm at the same place. He seems to be able to recruit, but can he coach? Need to see some improvement after last years setback.

Yes, I am saying we aren't in the know.

I would count the 1st half at home vs Michigan as the worst I've seen IU play at home, maybe ever. The second worst is the Nebraska game at home. Both were shockingly bad. A lack of effort. A complete lack of effort and preparation. I don't know why, and I don't know after 2 seasons if this is a characteristic of Miller or if there was something terribly wrong with the team.

There was a cancer on our team. It is now gone.

I wonder if he got whiplash from switching his position on Archie so fast. I think he was just playing the Donavon and Stephens fans against the Miller fans and didn't really support any over the others because all he wants to do is trash IU and it doesn't matter to him who's coaching.

Make the postseason is goal #1, NCAA Tournament, B1G Title, BTT Title, Final Four, National Championship. That should be the progression this IU team needs to make. No excuses. Playing in the Postseason is the floor going forward.

With the exception of Langford who was destined for the Cardinals until
the Pitino situation. Recruiting is still in questioned for Miller. Indiana is
still losing it's somewhat slow production of true top 4 and especially
5 stars to out of state programs. I believe the coaching is there.
Miller needs top instate and or national talent, he is no Bobby Knight.

What? He missed out on Keion Brooks. Get out over it. He signed Romeo, Anderson, and Phinisee who were the 3 top rated players in 2018. He signed TJD and Franklin who were 1 and 3 in the state this last class. He was only going to get one of Franklin or Newman as they weren't going to commit to the same school. He has verbal's from Leal who is a 4* and top rated player in the state and a verbal from Galloway who will be a 4* once rivals releases their end of summer rankings in a couple of weeks. He is getting the best in-state talent. I don't think that's even a question.

IU is perhaps only a week or two, if not days a way from signing a top 100 recruit in Matt Cross and then will be going all in on either Caleb Love or Dawson Garcia who are both 5* recruits. Love has already pledged an OV to Indiana and would be shocked if we don't get one from Garcia as well. There is nothing wrong with Archie's recruiting. The only issue is whether or not he's going to get the time to see them all through as upperclassmen.

Okay, I think I mentioned slow production of top instate 4 and five stars.
With respect, I'm sure Anderson, Phinisee and the future recruit Cross
(Love no way) would make any ACC or B1G proud.

You think the coaching is there, but he needs top talent. That seems to be a contradiction.

As far as recruiting, I think he's done a good job and has gotten the kids he's said he's going to get, with the exception of Brooks.
