Butler University, following a losing season, will participate in the inaugural "College Basketball Crown" tournament.

"The Bulldogs have accepted an invitation to play in the inaugural College Basketball Crown taking place in Las Vegas from March 31-April 6."

I don't see this Crown tourney sticking around long. Portal dynamics make it really difficult.
Probably not but at least for a year or two its at the MGM Grand and it looks pretty fun. I think the Pac Ten used to have its tournaments there and it looked wild. Everyone looked good and buzzed up by game time.

If Fox could supplement Conf tourney week with a cross conference 16 or 32 teamer preamble, that would be epic to see.
I just don't see it ever getting off the ground. Maybe some sort of mid season tournament. But I don't see that happening either.

Itd be incredible if it were ever well represented with decent teams. It won't get there though. Lots of "Butler" ish type teams, I'm sure, for a couple years. Then it'll die off.

That’s where IU played AZ a couple years ago. Total garbage arena

If they really wanted to do it... let it be a players only tourney, where the players win money for each win. Choose 16 teams that must have winning records. Those teams need to be made up of at least half the players from that team with a roster of 10. So, if Indiana was selected and some players didn't want to play, they could pick up a few from ND, ISU, UE, etc. Now that would be fun to watch.

I know the logistics would be very tough, but it sure would be more exciting to watch than kids half ass a game because they didn't want to go to the CBI.
