"In Penny Lane, there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to know
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say, "Hello"
In Penny Lane, the barber shaves another customer
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange"
With apologies to Macca, these iconic lyrics provide us with a tragic blueprint of exactly how the virus can spread. Esp when we're working with irresponsible folks who can't be bothered to practice basic safeguards or exercise a modicum of responsibility or consideration for others...
After reading about the situation on various sites, it seems pretty certain that this was a case of a barber and his customers not only violating the State's lockdown order, but purposely ignoring social distancing, masks, or any other basic safeguard over the course of several weeks.
I wonder how many folks will suffer because of these folks feeling the need to exercise their "rights"? Any doubt that people stupid enough to expose themselves and others needlessly by patronizing an "illicit" barber are going to hesitate to also patronize businesses who have legitimately opened up as well?
