If you ever had to fire someone

Can federal employees be hired based on their political affiliation or on the flip side be fired for the same reason? Is it even allowed to ask a prospect the question?

They are operating under a CR now. There is nothing in an appropriation bill regarding number of personnel. They could keep a hiring freeze on as long as they want, firing all probationary, etc...

They are going impoundment, anyway, unless stopped by the courts.
I’m guessing they lose on impoundment past the 90 days without congressional action.

Just means you have no conviction on this subject. Emotions. Where have all the men gone? Certainly aren’t many (if any) in the Democrat party. Big reason you guys lost.
It's funny how you keep asking where all the men are. Just what is your definition? Sounds like someone playing by themselves in a corner saying (I'll persevere). I am man enough to say I'm sorry for hurting your feelings with conviction. Before you come back with your lib label, all emotions aside. I'm a Reaganite. A real republican man.

Did the person(s) who laid you off taunt you with a chainsaw?

You must be a consistently poor performer. I’ve never minded firing them.

To prove your point, Paul Dans the Heritage Institute director of the 2025 Plan stated on C-Span that 95% of the federal employees are Democrats.

In trying to find a source for the Dans remark I found surveys having been taken showing the Dems may have a slight majority but nowhere near 95%.

So federal employees leaning towards the GOP are undountedy on the chopping block.
I believe the correlative was voter registration and historical data of political donations among federal workers. 90%.

Mass, love to see a link supporting the donations and registration data you cited.

Say this because tying political donor information and voter registration data to job occupations seems difficult.

In contrast have seen members of the media in responding to surveys of the media members only which require identifying a party preference showing a preference for the Dems.

The voter registration data was from DC and northern Virginia. In those locales, most people work for the Fed, lobby the Fed, or sell something to the Fed. Their donations are uniformly Democrat.

Mass, think both the director of the Heritage Foundation Project 2025 and the rest of us have a lot to learn about the Federal Workforce. For example, I was surprised only 19.8% of the Federal employees live in the D.C. area.

This article in part has this to say about where the fed workforce lives...

The federal workforce is much more decentralized than many realize. Of the approximately 2 million federal career civil servants, just 19.8% are based in the D.C. area, encompassing Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. In contrast, a staggering 80.2% of federal employees work outside this area. That means the vast majority of government employees are in every state and territory across the country, performing essential functions from managing veterans’ health care to responding to natural disasters.

You and hoot are making the second attempt (at least) to provide the fact that about 80 percent of the federal workforce don't live in the National Capitol Region (NCR), which is DC, Maryland and Virginia. Some of the posters refuse to believe this fact and some of the same are clinging to the ridiculous myth that over 95 percent of the federal workforce consists of Democrats. Totally false. Easily proven false. Obviously false. However, they just won't acknowledge facts. They really do have "alternate facts."

Those numbers match. Looks like roughly 450k in NCR. Which is about 20% of Federal employees. Probably little less than that as you have a lot of Fed employment in Southern VA with Navy that aren't in the NCR.
