I didn't want to type on an IPAD last night, so I finally get to type a reaction to the "panic" I saw in the Green post last night...
IU is at the point where there are four schollies left. Each team is now filling their lists....120+ teams looking for that one player....It's similar to a "Draft Board" come May. Players that were good but not good enough to get the offer on the Football Powers' board may be getting that coveted phone call. Now that the competition is on, each team sees that player, I guess committed or not, and trying to get them to come.
IU has this history. I started following in 1997, Cam Cameron's first year. While I don't have specific names, IU has been infamous in the Corso and I'm sure way before years of guys who are all but wrapped up to go to IU and OOPS, Notre Dame or Ohio State comes calling and "They be gone"....
Plenty of names got that call, The Woody Hayes and company would recruit that player not to play them, but not have to play AGAINST that player and be buried on the depth chart. Thank goodness for the 85 scholarship limit.
So, strap in guys, the next week will be nerve-racking, but fun...
