Illinois has a lot of pieces... but they have taken some lumps. Bama by 13, Northwestern, Nebraska, USC, Duke by 40, MSU by 14, Maryland by 21, Wisconsin by 21... I am not overly impressed by this season in a vacuum given some of the talent they have. I do not think Underwood sucks, but this team seems too inconsistent to make a run. Ultimately the big ten as a whole going a quarter century without a title is mindboggling and clearly thst is not just an Illinois problem. That will not change this year.

Probably not a coincidence either that IU’s best leader this season developed his game playing four years there under him. Maybe IU should try and grab a few more transfers from them next season, who know how to play like Goode does.

Nah… Underwood is garbage. Unless you like 30-0 runs against you and looking like a JV team against Duke. He had the talent to compete for the BIG this year but nope. They did beat Purdue on their senior night though. He’s better than McCaffrey.

Seems way, way above Fran and not nearly as annoying. I'd not say pass, until they're not kicking our ass directly, in the standings and post season performance. At the minimum, and good Coach, which we haven't seen for a couple decades now.

They lost 5 of their last 7 right? They've got 2 1/2 good players. Go back to when they played Auburn. They had no business being on the same floor. It ended at the moment they announced the starting lineups.

Literally everyone on this forum gives Painter his due on putting something together that's competitive in conference. Aside from last year's outlier, they are who we thought they were.
