if can go 4-1 the last 5 games, 10-10 conference 19-12 overall

The way I see it, IU will be hiring a new coach at the end of this season no matter what, even if they win the NC this year (HA!!).

1) Anything less than a S16 appearance will be viewed as business as usual. No change in future plans.

2) A S16 will be a huge surprise (to say the least), but viewed as a nice send off that does not change future plans.

3) An E8 or better will be the story of the tournament, obviously. It will be ultimately viewed as the best IU send off ever (arguably the best college basketball send off ever if they make the FF), but it still will not change future plans.
Making the tournament would be a huge surprise.

I see no evidence that this Team has the talent, confidence, and coaching to put together a modest 3 or 4 game winning streak against any level of competition.
IU has had 3 streaks of four games or more. I get that you're emotional and disgruntled and that it's unlikely they put together a winnning streak, but quit saying dumb shit just to say dumb shit...

TIA

The conference is so bad this year we might actually have a chance to win the conference tournament.
Wisconsin is the only team that is just better than us in all phases, not sure what the hell happened against Illinois, they look average against everyone else. but I guess that would be a bad match up also

Who else would you really fear in the BIG

Sadly, yes. Besides, the play-in games, I don't know how they decide it, but it's often mid level matchups and not all the worst seeds I don't believe.
seems 6 of the teams are just happy to be there and 2 of them say "what disrespect! this is ridiculous".

This year the bubble will be determined by the SEC most likely.

I'm surprised there are people that have taken 100 Woody shots to the nuts and still have hope of any kind left. If watching MM brick the go ahead layup against UCLA wasn't the last straw, then nothing will be.

I just hate the 68 team field. Why is it so hard for the NCAA to do what's obvious: Cut the field to 64, and increase the CFP to 16. Stop outsmarting yourself.

They also had Bootsie White, didn't they? That was quite a disappointing team.
Yes, Bootsie

Yes, along with senior guards Larry Gibson and Jim Harris. Frank Wilson and John Ritter were first year players on that team as sophomores.

Agree. Play-in rounds and byes are dumb. Everyone should have the same number of games to get to the final. And conference tournament champs should not get auto-bids. Take the best 64 teams on the basis of their entire season.

It is hard to believe we are talking about maybe getting on the bubble when we were picked to finish 2nd.

Extending the field to 68 is about the only chance IU has to actually get in. When you are a perennial bubble team and the first four out, our chances of making a 68 team tourney is unlikely when it is 64.

I'd agree. I'm pretty confident we'll win the PSU. OSU, and Washington games. Purdue at home would seem in reach given the game at Mackey. On the road @ Oregon seems a tough one.

Despite our losing streak we're really not that far off making the tourney. It can happen.
We are so far away it isn’t even worth contemplating. We drop like 3 of 5 and as a real possibility. I could easily see us losing alll of them.

That would eliminate some of the double digit seed low majors that consistently beat Painter and Purdue.
Yeah I thought about that, also some of the Cinderella stories that are a fun part of the tournament. Kind of like when the small schools played in the state HS tournament.

Living “in the now” is a negative! No way to sugarcoat it.
The big positive “in the now” is that we are guaranteed a new coach. And, that’s where the dreams, hopes and visions of future glory truly live.
hope is helluva thing, as long as there is a chance there is hope. what do you think gets Lucy out of bed everyday {besides DANC} its hope, no matter how desperate things look one cannot lose hope
