I just spoke with the Capper.

He said he was in the Knot Hole Gang in 1967. He watched every home game for 1 dollar. He is beside his self with optimism. Northwestern is Northwestern and we are going to kick the living shit out of them. Give the points. The Capper doesn't work, hangs out at the track and can cash a check in any bar in three states.

I remember the knothole section. I went to every home game that year there as well. Except they did away with the knothole section for the Purdue game. Luckily my Dad found a ticket for me and that was the most unreal experience I have ever had at a sporting event.
