Cut the tournament back to 32 teams. Get rid of all the garbage play-in games and first round blowouts. The bottom 32 teams would play the NIT so that tournament would be more interesting and better respected. The other teams that would have made the NIT get nothing except a lesson to do better. Think of the viewers.

How bout start with the 32 automatic qualifiers from each conference. That leaves 328 teams. Seed them on an average of NET and Kenpom. Play that 328 down to 32 in 10 days. Then reseed the final 64 and play the Tournament.

His offense when he first arrived and for that era was a fun offense to watch. Then in perfect Crean fashion he became infatuated with position-less basketball without having multi position players.. Then the switching defenses in middle of possessions.

Always looking for a gimmick. Didn't have a consistent offensive or defensive philosophy. Which is one reason why he was an inconsistent coach...

It just sucks if you go back to 2007 how good Sampson had us..

There is logic to that. However less teams =less games = less tv/ ad and on site game revenues. Money talks. Never gonna happen.

Maybe I didn’t explain well enough. After conference tournaments are done and automatic qualifiers are determined, I start the NCAA tournament with all non auto qualifiers. I give the auto qualifiers a bye until the remaining schools are down to 32.

The format is fine as it is.. adding to it waters it down... and adding so many makes the regular season moot. No one wants to watch St Peters play North Texas. We do though enjoy watching them beating Purdue.

Naw, they would probably still have to play a mid major in the first game and it would still be played in March. Advantage mid major.

The regular season is already watered down in conference play. A team works to win their conference championship then the automatic bid goes to a team that wins a few games in the conference tournament.

Ohio St has a schedule rated at 17, IU at 34. Ohio St beat Kentucky bye 20, IU has 5 losses at a average of 22.5 per game. Look at Maryland, the have 5 losses but they lose bye only 4.2 per game. Plus their soft schedule rated at 174, they beat their games with Rin Tin Tins and Mary had a little lamb bye a average of 30+, IU half that, so Maryland has a NET of 24, IU at 61. I look for Maryland to join IU on the bubble line soon!

As they should be. Maryland isn’t very good. And the NET sucks ass.
