I am hearing some rumblings on other social media sights, dare I more than hope that

Lamar Wilkerson is saying yes to IU
Until it comes from a credible source dont believe random posters. Btwon banners had a troll claiming he is connected who had them all convinced iu was hiring Brad Stevens. It was a done deal.Last I looked he was still trolling on that site

Sounds like it’s all but done but he wants to see campus first
Sure thing. How many days will he be on campus? June through April of '26 and a couple dozen road trips? Hopefully it's to weigh the bag and he pulls the trigger.

Per one podcast, he wants the wine and dine tour and to visit more than one school.

Duke had expressed some interest in him. With them just finishing Saturday…and them losing most of their starters…they are an obviously huge threat.

Just rewatched the Sam Houston game not that impressive I didn't remember him when we played if we get him fine if not move on.

I know it's probably the new normal but I hate it. That vibe makes me want to pass if we have other prospects.
Yes, Who would expect a young person to explore their options and try and make the best decision for themselves in what is probably the biggest decision they've made in their lives and one that could have huge bearing on their future? Selfish b*stards.

Seriously? I'm not sure you even have on rose-colored glasses, maybe a crimson blast helmet? Let's see, my choice is a team in a complete rebuild mode and you expect them not to take calls from Duke and Florida, and check that out? Obviously my hope is he picks the former, but any sane person would listen.

Getting any kid to visit Btown is always a good thing.

Not saying these kids make their decision based off of a campus or facilities, but Btown is so much nicer than most of these campuses.
Pretty campus, yes, but located in the middle of Nowheresville in the eyes of more urban kids. Plus, abandoned rock quarries teaming with naked coeds, once an annual rite of Spring, have been closed to public access for years now. It’s been removed from the bonus package handed to potential recruits.

No more “nowheresville” than Lexington, Lawrence, Tuscaloosa, Fayetteville, or Champaign, for instance.

I get it. Welcome to being a professional free agent and, let's be honest, nobody cares about if it's your big decision or not if you want to parallel it to the corporate world (especially if you're coming from a small company or out of school and wanting to work Fortune 100). Fortune 100 corps have their pick of the litter and maybe IU isn't "Fortune 100" any more and more like Fortune 1000 if that's your point.

We'll see what structure comes to the portal but I think you're going to see what we're starting to see in football where theres effectively going to be 10 or less football programs who really have a chance to win the NC. The early tourney games will be more and more like "warm-up" nonconference games against nobody conferences. At the end of the season, they'll cherry pick any salvageble talent from the lesser programs. The lowest seed in the elite eight this year was a 3 seed.

At some point why even let the Norfolk States, SIU-E, High Points or Grand Canyons in the tournament if it's just for tradition's sake? We're really at the point where minor league sports are now layered into academic institutions--these are certainly strange times.

Probably less than they used to. Do they set foot on the academic campus these days? If their classes are on Zoom they can just stay in their apartment and drive over to Cook Hall at practice time.
In the days of everyone having a camera, I wonder how much famous college-aged athletes want to be in a small town.

It isn't. Nobody expects those teams to win, it's about money. I'd prefer if they cut it back to 32 teams, based it all on NET and no auto-bids, and actually played the "March Madness" final in the month of March.

I'm not sure you do get it, or I don't think you'd have made the post. My point is, if you're entering the portal, you probably are going to listen to multiple offers and make multiple visits. We are a good program and name, but the fact of the matter is we are in a complete rebuild. The recent interest I've heard is that Duke and Florida are interested, you don't think he should "listen" to them. Maybe he wants to play for a title? Why be upset with him for that? We're going to have to prove ourselves and work hard to get commitments from guys who the Duke, Florida and UK's of the world are interested in.

Well in this particular case, the young man is from Ashdown Ark, pop 4,000

So...a fantastic campus with great nightlife and great dining, a spectacular lake and Brown County each a half hour away and the twentieth largest city in the country forty five minutes away...might be ok for him.

Oh, and this is the time of year cleavage makes it spring spectacular appearance.
