We have one on the bench gathering dust for 2+ yrs. I’m an 80s kid…and have accepted that the 80s are long gone. Didn’t see too many Indiana kids (or even American kids) in that AZ lineup that kicked our asses on Saturday. Get the right players for the program. I don’t care if they come from Mars, as long as they can play D, rebound and shoot the ball.
Maybe my Indiana roots are planted deep. But no one does it better than the kids from Indiana.
So which of our freshman should not have been recruited and/or who should have been booted off the roster in order to add him?
Can’t take everybody.
Edey isn’t only scoring on dunks. They get him the ball down low, he faces the basket and scores. We have no one to stop him. Stopping him would be getting lucky with TJD drawing 2/3 quick fouls on him.
Either Painter is a genius or lucky. I don’t think anyone thought Smith would be as good as he’s been.
Mine are as well, but the sentiment is mostly just that any more. Alford and Bailey days are long gone
I expect that might be even better this year. 12-8 could be 2nd place with an absolute quagmire of team from 9-11 to 11-9

UNC making the NC game last year with their starting backcourt returning is factual.
UNC is impressive in name only. They aren’t any good and yet everyone acts like that was a monumental win. A good portion of the Big Ten would beat UNC.
UNC will settle in as a top 20 team.
Beating them is great but most important to understand the win in the context of a big national spotlight game complete with all of the external distractions.
That can’t be replicated without the right programs or in deep dance games. IU has already has two with one more coming.
Win or lose, these are excellent opportunities to prepare for the season and the dance.
So glad we flushed the IU crossroads classic for this.
This season sure flushing the Crossroads looks ok- but I live in Indy along with an absolute ton of HS talent- I hope IU can play some games up here again versus UK or whomever
ACC challenge and Gavitt games go away next year. Likely a b12/p12 vs b1g replaces it but there are 2 possible schedule spots for that matchup

I get woodson has the old school mentality of iu play the best. But when you arent on par whats the point you just get embarressed. Build a program first before scheduling kansas on the road.
Have you (or anyone else mad about playing KU or UA) also posted complaining about weak pre-con schedules?
Some (Izzo, Few, Calipari) would argue that this is exactly how you build a program - play the best to see where you are as a program.
Today wasn’t a discrepancy in the lack of talent on the floor, but a serious gap between the two teams with regards to caring about effort put forth.
Maybe we can pull his calve hairs out while he has the ball underneath.

Based on the 2 games I've watched where they struggled (Davidson and FSU) the plan should be to let Edey get his and focus on no easy 3s or garbage points from Furst. Both of these games saw them trailing at some point.
Just gotta have the guys willing and able to do it.
If we want to be a Kansas we need to experience firsthand what it takes to beat a Kansas. We won't get there playing cupcake mid-major games. I like the schedule, I wish the team had brought a better effort. But maybe after enough of these losses they will learn to do that. I have my doubts about the upperclassmen if they haven't learned that by now, but the new guys need to see that just showing up with "Indiana" on your jersey isn't enough.

At this point 2 years ago, we won 5 more games down the stretch. That will be this year’s ceiling. We were mediocre with a full roster, now we are just bad.
