I'm far enough south i can watch Louisville stations. My father isn't as fortunate. Comcast took away his Louisville locals and replaced them with Indy and he's losing his mind this morning worrying about the race.

Never advertised but there are a few watering holes who will be showing it....otherwise most are out of luck. I listen to it while golfing.

I turn the TV on, tune into the channel and that's about it.

I'll watch it today at Average Joes. While it is "illegal" to show, I've always thought they got permission due to their sponsoring. Other than that it's just on a few hour delay.

Not if you live in Indy.

I was pointing out the fact that I didn't have to deal with that. Anyone who spent anytime at IU probably knows they don't show the 500 live via the local Indy channels.

I used to go every year. Had great tickets along main straightaway near the scoring pylon. Almost 15 years straight. But, the crowd and traffic got the best of me and I have been sitting it out. Now, I turn it on the radio and listen which is what we did when I was growing up.

I'll be on my boat today listening with a cold one in hand.

What piece of anti-capitalism, anti-freedom commie crap do they put on in place of racin'?

Growing up, our family always went to the grandparents house and swam while cooking out and listening to it on the radio. My first Anniversary when the wife and I went to Vegas was the first time I was ever able to watch it on TV live while sitting in the Sportsbook

Now, since I've got it on via my antenna picking up Chicago locals.

If I watch it, then via tape delay. Indycar racing died in 1994 and the product since has been terribly mismanaged. Half the field you've never heard of or can't make it in other racing series. It's sad what this race has become from what it once was.

I got him hooked up on espn3. He's been watching Montoyas in car all day.

What are you talking about? 4 of the last 5 races have been awesome.

Last year had more passes than any race ever.
The current field has plenty of big names in racing if you are following the sport.
Helio, Carpenter, Hunter Rae, Kanaan, Will Power, Marco, Graham, Sato, etc.
Todays race has 3 locals (1 from Indy, 2 from Noblesville)

It may not be the names you grew up with but if you follow the sport year around this field has plenty of talent. But then again are you still rooting for Jordan, Barkley, Ewing, or Bird. Or Marino, Elway, Montana, Dickerson, Rice, etc.

Never said the "racing" wasn't good. I agree that it is, but everything else about the series is terrible from the marketing on down.

Again your words above.

The only way you dont know half the names is if you dont follow Indy Car. (Which is fine, but it also means you wouldnt have known half the field in the past either)

The idea that half the field cant make it in other racing series is also crap. If you are talking about Juan Pablo not doing great in stock car it is because it is a totally different sport. How many NASCAR guys do you think could go 225 3 wide without rubbing?

Yep. Always went to lost lake camping with my grandparents listening on the radio. Good times. Tuned it at 11pm to see the crashes and spin-out recoveries.

Only Watched it live once I entered the army.

Did you ever eat at that BBQ place that was near the Speedway? I can't think of the name of it,but it was very good. Very authentic.
