Leaky defense shows up again. Dang. 2-0 so far...oops 4-0. Cam really has no one to blame but himself.

That's six errors going back to the last Iowa game, and we still have seven innings to go in this one. There were also two WPs in the 2nd, which don't count as errors, but in reality, that's what they are.

Kent St returned the favor with an error in the 4th allowing two unearned runs to score to tie the game at 4-4. IU still batting in the inning.

IU trails Kent St, 6-4, in the 8th in what has been a poorly played game for them. They have five errors in the game right now.

Back-to-back homers by Lloyd and Dunham tie the game in the 8th at 6-6. Lloyd in relief pitching in the 9th.

IU batting in the 9th with the game tied at 6-6. Kent St got a runner in scoring position in the top of the inning on a throwing error by Barr, IU's sixth error of the game, but Lloyd got a strikeout to get out of the top of the inning.

How do you have 6 errors. That’s crazy. I’ve seen in previous box scores we have committed a lot of errors but this is rediculous. At some point this bites you. Hope they can improve in this area.

In the 9th, Houston hit a one-out double but was stranded there, putting the game into extra innings with the score 6-6.

Little League?

To lead off the 10th, Lloyd hit a .189 batter, so Kent St has a little bit of a threat going with no outs.

IU is batting in the 10th with the score still tied. Lloyd got into a jam in the top of the inning with the hit batter and and a walk, but was able to pitch out of it.

Scott has replaced Lloyd with Kent St batting in the top of the 11th. Lloyd is back to 1b.

Scott has promptly got into a big jam in the 11th by walking the first batter and hitting the next batter on a 1-2 count. Two on and no outs.

Scott balks both runners over to 2nd and 3rd with still no outs.

Kent St is still batting in the 11th and now leads 8-6. A single brought in a run with the bases loaded and then Scott hit a batter to drive in another run. There is still only one out with the bases loaded. The inning started with Scott walking a batter and then hitting the second batter. That makes two batters hit in this inning.

Scott is finally replaced by Sloan with the bases still loaded and only one out. Sloan strikes out the next two batters to end the inning, but the damage has already been done.

Cross hits a 2-run homer to tie the game in the bottom of the 11th. IU still batting with one out. Bradley (pinch hit) doubled to start the inning, and Cross hit his homer after a Houston strikeout.

Game has gone to the 12th, still tied at 8-8. Long is on the mound.

Franklin is coming in to pitch for Long. After getting the first batter of the 12th, Long walked back-to-back batters and then a passed ball by Cross put the runners on 2nd and 3rd. Franklin throws a WP to score a run (unearned.) IU is batting in the 12th and is going to have to come from behind again down 9-8.

It's like we are not trying to win this game, we are just trying to get guys experience, just like NFL pre season. LOL Horrendous defense and relief pitching. Oh well, let's get this one out of our system. VBG

I honestly have to wonder about the coaching in this one. Why are we pitching anyone and everyone in a game that is there for the taking?

Well, it wasn't the pitching (until extra innings) as much as the fielding. Six errors led to 5 unearned runs.

Coach had Matt Lloyd, the reliable stopper, in for the ninth and tenth; he did the job, but probably hit his pitch limit by the eleventh, given that he played the whole game at first. That's when the implosion happened.
