Hobbie and Eustace Earn All-Star Spots in Summer Leagues

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's Brian Hobbie and Laren Eustace have each earned spots on their respective summer league's all-star roster. Hobbie will represent the Terre Haute Rex in the Prospect League All-Star Game while Eustace will represent the Green Bay Bullfrogs in the Northwoods All-Star Game.

Hobbie has been lights on the mound for Terre Haute, logging 44.2 innings, giving up just 27 hits and posting a microscopic 0.40 ERA. In his last outing against Kokomo on July 6, Hobbie threw a five hit shutout to help his squad pick up the 6-0 victory.

Eustace has had a nice summer for Green Bay, hitting .333 with three home runs and 16 RBI. To go along with his 39 hits in 117 at-bats, Eustace has also swiped seven bases.

Highlighted by Logan Sowers and Luke Miller playing in the Cape Cod League, a total of 15 Indiana Baseball players from the 2016 roster have participated in summer baseball leagues.

Hobbie is an interesting kid...He might be in the fight to grab some innings next year now that the big three seniors are gone. I'm not sold he has weekend starter stuff, but this is certainly a good sign

It's never been about the stuff, it's been about the location. He's found his slider this summer, let's hope that continues during the fall an into the spring. If he can be a 3 pitch mix guy, he has a chance at one of the starting spots available. His problem has always been the location of his secondary pitches, hitters at this level recognize that and scouting report indicates that.
