Hire Beard

Uh, one place to start is what conference do they play in, or what is their respective SOS, or what’s their record in the NCAA Tournament? In other words, Beard is at a complete different level than McCollum. Not even comparable.
Two of the coaches on that list are in the same conference as Beard! lol. You are so focused on McCollum. The point was that Beard isn't the only "sure fire" pick.

Beard kicked the sht out of her. He's terrible and will go to hell. You win.

I prefer Pitino, but if we're looking longterm success, we should hire Chris Beard.
He repeatedly hit her with a ball bat while one if his friends was holding her down. He kept curb stomping her well after she was unconscious. Paid off the cops to dump down the police report.

McCollum MVC
Drew Big 12
Bennett Not coaching, was at Virginia ACC
McDermott Big East
Beard SEC
Alford MWC
Otzelberger Big 12

Where are you getting two other coaches currently coaching in the SEC?

Also, I did mention two other very important metrics, have you cross-referenced those?

Never said anyone is “sure fire” because there is no such thing. I’ve only said that among the candidates, in terms of returning Indiana to winning basketball, having a full understanding of the current nuances a coach endures at a P4 conference, and performing at a higher success rate than the previous coach for multiple programs at every level - none, I repeat none of these other coaches touch Beard.

All this CB worship is a bit strange to me. He'd be a very good hire, but he's not the end-all, be-all; it's not Beard or bust ... for me, anyway.

Wonder how that person knows those to be the actual facts?

I'd be excited with a Beard hire. But all this "best", "only", immediate national power, talk is so strange and silly, to me. Nothing in his resume indicates that's likely. Him being ONE of a group of leading candidates makes absolute sense. But him being the clear cut, no one else compares, candidate is absurd.
Disagree North, but you already knew that 😉.

Among the candidates, he stands alone, in several categories. But, is he the only one that could be successful at Indiana? No, not at all. IU provides a launching pad that few programs possess, so it’s possible that there are several coaches out there that could return us back to being who we should have been for the past 10 years.

It’s not worship GT, just some’s pick as the best candidate. Agree, not an end-all, be-all either. Just the best fit, from where we stand. Going forward, who knows? Everybody has risk, nature of the beast.

If you want some head to head this season results: McCollum (Drake) beat Byington (Vanderbilt) 81-70 on a neutral court, and Byington beat Beard (Ole'Miss) 77-72 at Vandy...

Sorry, I wasn't referring to you ... but there are some "IU will F this up and not get Beard" posts out there.

Indiana is going to have to hire a big name coach and pay a mega salary to turn things around. This would be somebody who can coach and recruit. The problem therein lies that he becomes a cult of personality within the university - the exact thing the administration wanted to avoid after Coach Knight.

The other option is to hire a really solid coach and build a program over time. This is probably the way to go. The days of mega dominance are over. Just look at UNC and Kentucky who continue to struggle to find their footing, despite insistence at producing championships.

"Cult of personality".....how to tell us you're a Lib without telling us you're a Lib..

North, what do you know/think about Alan Huss? I know nothing of him other than from looking at his record. Has some Indiana connections having coached at La Lumiere and Culver MA. Former Creighton associate HC. 50-14 overall and 27-5 at High Point in 2 years there after Tubby and his son, 2x conference champion and coach of the year.
