Our path of non RMK hires was a complete failure. Woody obviously wasn’t a college coach.
Nor have I but do you have proof? Duke lacrosse had lives ruined by false allegations. You believe all women period? This dangerous if you have sons. I know I guy who kids life was ruined by a false accusation.
Intuition tells me there was definitely a physical altercation. But you, nor I, know if he was also being physically assaulted and there is evidence of that also. Like I've said all along, you hire an investigator and talk to Beard himself about it, if you believe in his answers and the investigation doesn't come back with other disqualifying events he should be considered. That's the smart thing to do, which by itself says that's not what IU will do.
Sigh, another Chris Beard thread. With no commentary about whether he "did it" or not, Texas fired him over it. I'm 95% (it was 99) certain that when they're going over the names, Pam says next as soon as there's mention of his name. You know, it is refreshing that Chris Beard has put an end to the Hire Alford threads.
All that said, if in the unlikely event that he's hired, I hope he's crazy successful. And I hope he stays away from the places Kevin Wilson frequented.

Every time there is a huge debate over Beard it illustrates why he won't get the job -- IU doesn't want this big argument around their flagship bball program.
It's okay, there are plenty of good coaches out there.

There are plenty of good coaches out there, but when you start removing the names that are extremely unlikely (Pearl, Stevens, Wright, Bennett, Barnes, Oats, Otzelberger (sp?), etc...) it gets thin with proven P5 guys. I'd say of somewhat possible and proven P5 guys, you have: May, Smart, ?? he starts to look pretty high up that list. One big factor in our favor I believe is the conferences. Anyone in the Big 12 or SEC faces a monumental task to get to the top of their conference and think about automatic bids and high seeds, year in-year out. Overall right now, I think there is a power vacuum at the top of the B10, and when you factor the resources and support of IU it's much easier to think you could turn that into a/the dominant program compared to those 2 conferences.

exactly...if you're hiring investigators to "recheck" something that happened 5 years ago with someone...move on, don't waist that time and money. There are other good candidates out there.
There's a difference between saying yo don't support the hiring of a particular coach and simply understanding why it wouldn't fly with the President and BOT.
