We told you we’d have even more NIL money for our new guy. 7 million this year, it looks like. Hopefully DD will start getting to know and actually recruit the high school kids and coaches too.
That’s just a rough number. Within reason, he’d get whatever he needs to land impactful players. We told you we’d have even more NIL money for our new guy. 7 million this year, it looks like. Hopefully DD will start getting to know and actually recruit the high school kids and coaches too.
Oh I know but yesterday Curt was saying that we wouldn’t have the NIL money that Woody had last year and I was pretty sure we wouldn’t let a new coach come in without it.That’s just a rough number. Within reason, he’d get whatever he needs to land impactful players.
I’m hoping he gets his son at bargain bin rates so he can surround him with top tier talent haWe told you we’d have even more NIL money for our new guy. 7 million this year, it looks like. Hopefully DD will start getting to know and actually recruit the high school kids and coaches too.
I also heard $11M today. We told you we’d have even more NIL money for our new guy. 7 million this year, it looks like. Hopefully DD will start getting to know and actually recruit the high school kids and coaches too.
I know one major contributor not happy, but others could step up, I guess. money is not as endless as some think, buyouts on both sides of the hire, Andy wrote a big check to remove archie. Ill fully support Devries until he proves he's not right guy to turn this around. But the last 2 hires have sucked this one needs to be right. We told you we’d have even more NIL money for our new guy. 7 million this year, it looks like. So really DD’s main challenge is to establish the culture and make sure he gets players that will buy into his plan and play hard all the time.I also heard $11M today.
Totally agree. That’s what I’d expect. Support until and hopefully won’t happen, that support isn’t deserved.I know one major contributor not happy, but others could step up, I guess. money is not as endless as some think, buyouts on both sides of the hire, Andy wrote a big check to remove archie. $11M is pocket change for these heavy hitters. As long as they get a Buzz from being big dogs in the athletic arena the money will keep flowing.I know one major contributor not happy, but others could step up, I guess. money is not as endless as some think, buyouts on both sides of the hire, Andy wrote a big check to remove archie. Thanks for the $4 million. Got a couple more lying around?I also heard $11M today.
people think our tradition is gone, in some ways it is, but game changers in NIL support grew up in the RMK era. that's the Indiana they want to get back to. time will tell he may kill it here, I hope so. Dolson's not an idiot he knows what rides on this.Totally agree. That’s what I’d expect. Support until and hopefully won’t happen, that support isn’t deserved.
Agree. Hate to say it but this first year is going to be big. Not saying he has to win the B10 and go to final four. But he has to put fun team to watch on the floor and hopefully win at least 22-24 games and get in big dance not being bubble team.So really DD’s main challenge is to establish the culture and make sure he gets players that will buy into his plan and play hard all the time.
This may be the most reasoned expectation I’ve read yetAgree. Hate to say it but this first year is going to be big. Not saying he has to win the B10 and go to final four. But he has to put fun team to watch on the floor and hopefully win at least 22-24 games and get in big dance not being bubble team.
Wish I did but these big guys at IU have it laying around. They grew up while Knight was kicking add. And their egos want to help bring blue blood status back. Thanks for the $4 million. Got a couple more lying around?
Well, if the shit we’ve watched for 8 years is the bar, DeVries will have it kinda easy. As long as we can hit layups and set screens without fouling, we’ll really wow our fans.So really DD’s main challenge is to establish the culture and make sure he gets players that will buy into his plan and play hard all the time.
Right. My bottom line goal would be a cohesive team that always plays hard . Game wise I’d say making the tourney without sweating on Selection Sunday. The thing IU fans notice more than anything is effort. You can tell when often the biggest cheer this year when a player dove for a loose ball .Agree. Hate to say it but this first year is going to be big. Not saying he has to win the B10 and go to final four. But he has to put fun team to watch on the floor and hopefully win at least 22-24 games and get in big dance not being bubble team.
And how about consistently hitting our free throws? The games we’ve lost over the last 7 or 8 years just because we couldn’t hit free throws!Well, if the shit we’ve watched for 8 years is the bar, DeVries will have it kinda easy. As long as we can hit layups and set screens without fouling, we’ll really wow our fans.
I just want teams to dread coming into Assembly Hall, knowing they’re going to be in a dog fight and that the crowd is going to shake the place so that your ears bleed.Agree. Who are the donors? Assume it’s a handful of large donors, family office type money.I also heard $11M today.
Cook, Ned Pfau, Andy Mohr, Simons….to name a few.Who are the donors? Assume it’s a handful of large donors, family office type money.
His kid is the real deal.I’m hoping he gets his son at bargain bin rates so he can surround him with top tier talent ha
I agree. Love that we finally have a shooter! His kid is the real deal.
I’m ready to turn the page and root for the new coach but I’ll always wonder what Coach Beard would have been able to accomplish. With that being said, I think Devries will improve the playing style and get IU back into the top half of the B10.people think our tradition is gone, in some ways it is, but game changers in NIL support grew up in the RMK era. that's the Indiana they want to get back to. time will tell he may kill it here, I hope so. Where is it published on the NIL amounts?$11M is pocket change for these heavy hitters. As long as they get a Buzz from being big dogs in the athletic arena the money will keep flowing.
Bordering on unlimited if he’s trying to build a cohesive team. Thats almost 7 figures per player. There are TONS of impactful mid major guys to be had for well less than 7 figures, I’m sure. So he should have tons of flexibility to go after the top, top guys that fit what he’s looking for. And then some really good mid major guys too. Probably plenty to make runs at Haralson and Mullins too if he wants.Yea word is $6-7M NIL and rev share double the B1G average for basketball. Adds up to the $10-12M total people keep hearing. That’s awesome!
It will be interesting to see how he scouts talent too.Bordering on unlimited if he’s trying to build a cohesive team. Thats almost 7 figures per player. I'm more than ready for the portal/teaming building stage after that long ass coach search.Bordering on unlimited if he’s trying to build a cohesive team. Thats almost 7 figures per player.
